Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.
Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.
"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

After he wins Louisiana tomorrow, this will all be forgotten and on to the next Primary.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Primary is Saturday isn’t it; not tomorrow. I hope he gets his butt handed to him. I used to like Santorum but he is so friggin’ stupid. It’s the “gaffe a day” syndrome and “foot-in-mouth” disease. RICK Santorum has turned out to be dumber than RICK Perry. His handlers must be retarded or just stone cold idiots. Everywhere he goes, he makes an ass out of himself. God, please, let us have a Brokered Convention. I’m thinking the rest of America is a sick of Kook-Daddy and The Three Stooges as I am. Give us another chance to get this thing right.
Romney winning the election will do more damage to the Republican party than Obama winning reelection.
If you are correct, you may have just made an excellent argument for people to vote for romney:
Rick Santorum will win Louisiana tomorrow and this nonsense with the etcha sketch which Newt brought up by the way will be over. Not to worry. Tomorrow is another great day for Rick Santorum. I think it is funny how you liberals are trusting what the liberal media says anyway. That title is no where near what he meant. Thanks to you, we are having Romney and not Rick for the nominee.
Hell, I would vote for ROMNEY before I would vote for Santorum.
And I pray to God that I will not be forced to make that choice.
“I think a lot of people will be writting in a candidate if romney wins. Someone will run third party I bet.”
And you fools play right in to Obama’s hands..
There is ALREADY going to be a “Third Party”. The DEMOCRAT-FINANCED ($25Million, so far) “Americans Elect”, which is designed to peel off just enough votes to insure Obama wins big swing states. There has been talk of Alan Simpson, or someone like him, running on that ticket.
I’m sorry that Jesus Christ, or the Ghost of Reagan decided not to run, but there you have it. The PRIMARY is where we decide who the nominee is going to be. If you don’t have the organization, the GOTV, AND THE MONEY, you don’t win these things.
And we all knew the day that Sarah decided she wasn’t running that Romney was going to be the nominee. No one else stepped up for the rectal rape the media is going to perform, once the nominee is decided.
Now that Santorum has officially jumped the shark, this thing is, for all intents and purposes, over.
Anyone who says they won’t vote, or will vote third-party/Write-in, might as well have a “REELECT OBAMA 2012” sign in thier front yard.
Sorry, I don’t hate my children enough to condemn them to the future Obama envisions for them. DO YOU??
Santorum plays for Team Santorum. That's it.
Going to Tampa as a delegate?
Going to Tampa as a delegate?
“I want someone who can put some wings on the car before it goes over the cliff. Crazy times, but I just dont see a solution with Mitt.”
The car is going over the cliff anyway.
Think back to “Thelma & Louise”.
Playing the role of Thelma are the democrats, behind the wheel driving full-speed towards the abyss.
Playing Louise are the Republicans, who, in a moment of their greatest intestinal fortitude, push the rats away from the wheel, step on the brakes a little to slow the car down, and then..... keep driving towards the same cliff, only at 40mph.
In the end, what happens?
Does anyone know if Rick Insanetorum has retracted or tried to correct the most dumbass, asinine, stupid, ignorant, statement of the 2012 Presidential Race? Or is he keeping silent? Keeping silent is what he should have done weeks ago. Every time he opens his mouth..............
I’VE GOTTEN TO WHERE I CAN’T STAND HIM!!!!! HE ONLY CARES ABOUT HIMSELF.
I like the one Sarah Palin shouted out,
Vote Newt, aggravate a liberal. ( <-Not exactly her words)
You fail to realize that the anti-Santorum contingent of the GOP is now larger than the anti-Romney contingent.
Deal with it...but keep fighting if you must.
All I ask, IMPLORE, is that you vote for the GOP nominee.
Because the GOP is UNITED in the sentiment that Obama must be defeated.
And a “good” third party candidate will lose. Guaranteed. And will help Obama. Guaranteed. Your vote for a third party candidate will contribute to four more years of Obama.
Maybe you should try commenting on what Santorum actually SAID, rather than making garbage up.
Count on it. He's an idiot.
Well said, AmericanInTokyo.
He told us he was a team player, but what team is he on?
Santorum plays for Team Santorum. That’s it.

True. What if someone said: “Rather than have a First Lady who never combs her friggin’ hair, like Karen Santorum, and looks like a Redneck gal who just got out of the shower with a wet head, hell we may as well keep Michelle Obama.
