As gasoline prices continue to rise, President Obama on Thursday pushed back on attacks from Republicans that he is blocking the Keystone XL oil pipeline and is against drilling, arguing his administration has added enough new oil-and-gas pipelines to "encircle the Earth and then some."
Obama highlighted his support for the southern leg of the controversial Keystone pipeline, which would carry oil from Cushing, Okla., to refineries on the Gulf Coast.
Appearing before a backdrop of oil pipelines in Cushing, Obama said he was making construction a priority through an executive order issued Thursday that instructs federal agencies to expedite their review of the southern portion of the pipeline.
Today, Im directing my administration to cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles and make the project a priority, said Obama, who earlier this year rejected a GOP bid to force construction on the full pipeline, which would stretch from Alberta to the Gulf Coast.
Republicans quickly dismissed the speech and the executive order as a public relations stunt.

“Is there anyone left who believes a word this clown says?”
Apparently around 40 some odd percentage according to some polls I’ve seen.
But Clinton and Obama lay their pipes in different places.
‘But Clinton and Obama lay their pipes in different places.’
I WAS NOT going to go there... but heck, since you brought it up :)

Too ignorant to know they are being lied to, or they know they are being lied to and are just too stupid to care.
Exactly where has he authorized the laying of more pipeline?
Some idiot in the WH staff looked up a statistic about pipe length and thought “kewl!” This whole administration is a bunch of emotional teenagers who never made it out of HS.
Planned pipeline construction to be completed in 2011 fell by more than 28% from the previous year, with sharp drops in planned crude and products pipelines more than countering expanded natural gas construction plans.Pipeline construction plans continue slide despite growth in natural gas - Oil and Gas Journal - February 7, 2011Operators plan to complete installation of 8,327 miles in 2011 alone (Table 1), with natural gas construction's share of the plans (more than 6,600 miles) making up nearly 80% of the total, based on reports from the world's pipeline operating companies and data collected by Oil & Gas Journal.
Looking forward, to 2011 and beyond, reveals that for the third consecutive year less mileage is planned than had been the case the previous year
LOL, and Stalin single handedly defeated Germany..
Propaganda is propaganda Mister Obama.
He’s an insane liar and the media doesn’t even call him out. They are all looking more and more stupid as they continue to defend this guy.
Obama does tell the biggest bull crap stories.
OK...
Anyone dumb enough to think that approving 1/2 a pipeline to Canada that doesn’t actually reach any canadian oil is a good thing, is OBVIOUSLY going to be voting for Obama.
Perhaps, there are major gas pipline maintenance works going on all over the country and have been since before he took office, but his administration has nothing to do with it and it isn’t new pipeline its just repairing old lines.
I am sure with shale natural gas a good bit of pipe has been laid in the past few years, but again that has nothing to do with Gasoline.
The fact the guy who stalled and refused the XL pipeline can now claim he’s pro drilling and pro pipline is rediculous, but that won’t stop the press for regurgitating his lies without challenge.
“Hes an insane liar and the media doesnt even call him out”
No one in the Mainstream media wants to be unemployed and black-listed for speaking the truth about Obama.
Isn’t Fascism Wunnerful?
Only the loon’s lies “encircle the earth”.
