In a tense meeting Wednesday that highlighted growing tensions over the shooting death of an unarmed blackteenager, city commissioners here passed a vote of no confidence in the police chief, as protests spread north to New York City, where the slain youth's parents joined a march demanding the killer'sarrest.
The no-confidence measure passed 3 to 2 after more than an hour of debate. Though it was not binding, the outcome and the public groans and applause that punctuated the debate underscored the anger pulsing through the Orlando suburb nearly a month after17-year-old Trayvon Martin's death on Feb. 26.

You’re exactly right.
Problem is too many people in this country simply don’t want to believe that something like a Nazi Germany could ever come to pass in this country.
There are people in this country that would willingly get in the cattle car and encourage others to get into the cattle car because they were given bread an jelly, and they wouldn’t be planning on doing anything bad to you or they wouldn’t give you bread and jelly.
For arguments sake let us say Mr. Zimmerman did everything wrong,he is a racist, he initiated the confrontation, he threw the first punch,
therefore he had an obligation to lie on the ground and let the teenager beat him to death?
At some point a party who is initially the victim, initially is in the right, can cross a line in which they cease to be the victim and become the victimizer.
If the law and the facts support the police and Zimmerman, it’s time for the DOJ to file a civil right complaint. That always gets ‘em.

I’m guessing no - I’m guessing he broke in - and trespassing is an arrestable crime.
So he’s already committing a criminal act when met by Zimmerman.
Treyvon Martin is hardly innocent in this case, in my opinion.

He was visiing his father who DID live there.
Zimmerman had a right to be suspicious of him. It was dark, it was raining, and 6’3” Trayvon had a hoodie on with his head covered. Zimmerman appropriately called the police to report Trayvon since they’d had a string of recent burglaries. It’s what happened after that that is unclear and will determine whether it was self dense or murder.
I was President of our local HOA when we lived in a small private (but not gated) community. By default I was considered head of our nearly defunct Neighborhood Watch also. At one point I got a number of calls from parents expressing concern about a supposedly “creepy” guy showing up every couple of weeks when the kids were walking to the school bus. I started walking my dog around that time and it wasn’t long before I saw the guy slowly cruising the neighborhood. I stopped him and asked him what he was doing. He initially wouldn’t tell me but when I told him some parents were concerned about their children he laughed and said, “I’m looking for TVs and stereos in the trash. I fix them and sell them. You rich people throw out some good stuff” I laughed and told him to have a nice day. I was armed and my dog was a 120 lb Doberman. I’m also 6’0” tall and weighed about 280 at the time. If he’d jumped out of the car with the intention of beating my azz I suppose it could have gone the same way as Trayvon.

huh? What are you talking about?
There is no “trevor” in this story. There is a dead black kid named Trayvon Martin and the guy who shot him named George Zimmerman. I didn’t know Martin was a football player and doubt it was true. He supposedly weighed around 140 lbs. If Zimmerman’s version of events is true, and eye witnesses support it, then it was self defense despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth and threats of reprisal from the black community.

a 90lb woman is not supposed to have no defense because a larger attacker is physically stronger.
I ALL that had been done by zimmerman is call the police and mere words (there is no evidence of a gun being displayed yet), then Trayvon could have walked away and when the police eveeeeeentually showed up, it would have been a big non-event.
I have only heard snippets of the 911 tapes, did anyone report seeing “a gun”?

The MSM doesn't have all of the facts. The narrative they are pushing isn't supported by the scant few facts we do have...
Ah, well, that does make the beat down he was supposedly giving Zimmerman more believable. In my limited personal experience facts mean little to the MSM today. What matters is how the story can be twisted to promote the agenda of the far left, in this case the message appears to be “guns and whitey are evil”.
