The war on men has been going on in popular culture since at least the early seventies. Look at the men in sitcoms for example. Bumbling out of touch fools who can’t do anything right or relate to anything except sex, sports, and beer, until their wives or girlfriends straighten things out.
It is a war...a war on our freedoms and our way of life, we’ve been way too complacent, those in power keep prodding the sleeping giant and soon it will awaken, then God help us all.

Bob Newhart refused to have a pregnancy storyline on the Bob Newhart show cause he said they would have made the show about “how stupid dad is”. And that was decades ago.
I always thought it peculiar he had 2 relatively hot tv wives on the 2 series and no kids (not counting “Bob” where he had a grown daughter). I can’t remember now if the issue was ever brought up on the shows. However both Mary Frann and Suzanne Pleshette died without having kids (but Bob had 4).
