Five people were killed and at least 12 other people wounded in shootings Saturday night and Sunday morning across the city.
The evening attacks follow the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old girl and the wounding of four other people in Chicago within an hour Saturday afternoon, and 16 shootings, including the slaying of a 42-year-old man, overnight Friday and early Saturday morning.

I guess the Amish got their green on again.
Really?
“Across” huge Chicagoland?
Or, largely centered in the BLACK neighborhoods?
Latin Kings. I had a run in with these thugs in Chicago once. Truly pieces of extreme garbage!
Cursory review of the map of the incidents shows that almost all are in predominantly minority/high crime areas.
Rahm Emmanuel said he wanted to confront the violence in Chicago when he was running for mayor. I wonder if he has put together any plans for this yet. It would be interesting to get the mayor’s reaction to this spate of violence in his city.
ahhh....Springtime in South Chicago. Nothing like the smell of gunpowder on a cool spring evening.
I work sometimes in chicago, but live in Indiana. When I really want to know what the hell is going on in chicago, I go to http://www.secondcitycop.blogspot.com/ Its not my blog, and I am not pimping it. I just really enjoy the new pajamas media out there now.
Pretty much this.
Without looking at the details, I'd guess this is mostly black on black gang related violence.
As a Chicago "community organizer", I'm curious if Obama can point to one single actual accomplishment that reduced the level of violence or improved anyone's lives for the better.

Deployment of racial profiling would be by far, the most effective and efficient initial law enforcement tool they could bring to bear on this issue.
Does that answer your question?
Without knowing what Emmanuel said, I can already provide the answer. To fix this crime wave, he will almost certainly suggest we tax the rich more and spend even larger amounts of money on social programs. It is the boilerplate urban Democrat answer to everything. Always has been, probably always will be.
Ditto’s on secondcitycop - a most excellent site.
They bring a knife, you bring a gun. They put one of your guys in the hospital, you put one of their guys in the morgue. It’s the Chicago way.
Warm weather always brings the Chicago thugs out to play.
Car 1800 was calling for citywide assists according to numerous comments.
And the media says....... [crickets chirping]
That's quite a link there, hoosierboy. Thanks. Here's one for you - it's 'why' - - why 'the media says...... crickets' chirping}

Thanks for sharing. If you like it, pass it on - we all need to know how the MSM feels about us.
I watched a program on NPR one night called The Interruptors about a group of ex-gang members in Chicago who were trying to intervene in the violence. It was truly sad and I had to force myself to watch it because the stupidity grinds on you. Some of the interruptors got shot too when they tried to intervene. Maybe the best solution is to wait until they run out of ammo? Here is the Ceasefire group that uses the interruptors: http://ceasefirechicago.org/
“When the 10-1 was done a group of French tourists asked if it was safe, I replied no it is not we are having gang problems in this area. these tourists said that they were in Chicago 4 years ago, but do not like the fact that the police can not arrest or control the unruly shitbirds and that they do not feel safe as tourists in the city.”

Really? Really!
Sound JUST like Paris and the inaction against THEIR Islamic scum to me.
Chicago=Detroit=Los Angeles=Obamaville USA!
Natives are restless.
You know, the one he "transformed into a new America."
I'm presuming that it is being blamed on St. Patty's Day "celebrations" or was it another "George Bush's fault?"
Whatever, I'm certain that the "stop the hate" campaign rages on in Chi-town, thanks to the "community organizer" in the WH.
