MIAMI, FLORIDA, March 16, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Soon, a child’s online exposure to homosexual romance will not just exist in a galaxy far, far away.
BioWare, the company that created the online video game “Star Wars: The Old Republic,” has relented after two years of lobbying and announced it will create an upgrade that allows players to have same-sex relationships as part of the gaming experience.
“Same gender romances with companion characters in Star Wars: The Old Republic will be a post-launch feature,” BioWare declared in an online statement. The new functions will be developed as the company releases “content and features that could not be included at launch, including the addition of more companion characters who will have additional romance options.”
Following the bulletin PC Magazine reported, “The ability to have a same-sex relationship within the Old Republic…is on the horizon.”
When LGBT activists began pressuring BioWare, which is a daughter company of Electronic Arts, to let players simulate homosexual scenarios, the company declined. During an internet discussion in April 2009, a BioWare monitor wrote terms like gay or lesbian “do not exist in Star Wars” and closed the thread.
But homosexual and transgender activists kept up the pressure through the game’s bulletin board. An online poll used to express support for inclusion of LGBT characters in the game consisted of just 35 people. The Florida Family Association estimates 1.7 million copies of the game have been sold, the vast majority to young children.
“The worst part about this is we have children who are 9, 10, 11, 12 years old children playing these games,” David Caton, president of the Florida Family Association told LifeSiteNews.com.
“Our main concern is the social engineering element,” he said, concerned someone’s young child will see “this cool looking character who is a transgender male-to-female, and says, ‘Hey, that’s what I want to be.’ It’s something he would never think about apart from that game.”
The game is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, in which players from around the world play online. That raises the possibility a young child will be confronted with homosexual or homoerotic scenes unwittingly as part of simple game play. “Another player could choose to be a transgender and then thrust himself into the mix with other children who don’t want to see trangenders,” Caton said.
“If BioWare goes so far as to allow,” characters to role play homosexual fantasies, Caton said, “I don’t think they are going to allow players to discriminate against LGBT players” – or characters.
BioWare has incorporated homosexual relationships into the video games Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, noted in his Washington Watch Daily Commentary, “On the game’s website, there are more than 300 pages of comments – a lot of them expressing anger that their kids will be exposed to this Star Warped way of thinking.”
However, BioWare subsequently deleted many of those comments, according to the Florida Family Association.
Caton said the goal is to expose children early to an alternate sexual preference. “This is all focused on capturing that emotion that children have…the passion that goes with the game,” and transferring it into sympathy for the LGBT agenda.
His organization allows people to send an e-mail to 13 of the top officials in BioWare, Electronic Arts, and LucasFilm.
“Parents who have an interest in protecting our children from social engineering need to remain diligent,” Caton told LifeSiteNews.com. “Time is of the essence.”

There is no homo stuff in it for now. When there is, it will be minimal, and one would have to search for it and actually TRY to have a homosexual relationship with one of the characters. At least they aren't shoving it down our throats. It is being put in as an afterthought to appease the gays. So what.
You have to understand what kind of game this is. SW:TOR is very character and story driven. If a gay wants to flirt with someone of the same sex, let them. It in no way affects how any of us play the game.

What doesn’t the gay mafia create their own GAY Star Wars and leave the real game alone? Hmmmm? Of course, we al know the answer — it’s because they want to destroy everything good and decent in the world and force everyone to celebrate their deviance.
Finally, a voice of reason. I thought I was alone, here. If this site is so full of whackos, I am in the wrong place. Pure insanity. Anyway, yeah, my Sith Warrior just hit max level, and I can safely say that this character has killed many thousands of "people", some of them in cold blood, i.e. outright murder. My companion character is a totally insane Sith Inquisitor that relishes cold blooded killing. Funny how no one gets upset about that.
I have a Dark 4 level 40 Bounty Hunter. Some of the dark side choices are so disturbing that she’s my only dark sider. Having her make out with Mako is pretty mild in comparison.
More BS! This is not a kids' game. It costs 15 bucks a month to play it. Good luck getting mommy and daddy to pony up a credit card for that. Unbelievable. And who the hell is this "Florida Family Association"? They obviously have no freakin' clue. There are 1.7 million paying subscribers to the game. Over 2 million have been sold, and more are selling all the time.

Funny, my Bounty Hunter is level 20-something and she is totally light side. No murders. I needed a palate cleanser after the Sith. Dark Side definitely makes one feal "icky". heheh

However, I will say that I am sick and freakin' tired of the Gay Agenda being shoved down my throat in every British or Canadian TV show I have tried to watch in the past few years. I would love to be able to keep them out of my entertainment, but I can't. Now, in this game, you actually have to hunt down and try to get a gay option. It will not, reapeat NOT just come up in the game as a matter of course.
I just checked the website: The game is rated T for Teen. Teenaged boys often do sign up for online games without permission from their parents, and they often have money of their own to spend. And parents might agree to a “Star Wars” game rated T for Teen (age 13 or older).
Many parents allow their younger children to play T-rated games - which is the fault of the parents, not the game-maker. However, the way you (and the game website itself) describe the game sounds like it shouldn’t even be rated Teen... It should be rated M for Mature or Adults-only. Here’s a guide to ratings:

I have a 35 Marauder that is 100% Light side and a 21 Juggernaut that is neutral. they are my palate cleansers. You really need to be in the right (or is it wrong?) mood to play 100% dark side.
