Factoid the Santa Maria, Pinto, and the Nina was pulled not by sails but by Algae.

Obama is a bitter man who is so far into himself he hasnt seen daylight in 45 years,
Perhaps the GOP should have opened their hearts and minds to Bell?
The argument when Columbus sailed was NOT, absolutely 100% NOT EVER - if the world was flat or round. That is absolute historic ignorance.
Educated people in the time of Columbus KNEW the world was round - the argument was over - HOW FAR AROUND IS IT?
The scholars of his day used the (accurate) figure of Eratosthenes - and accurately predicted that Columbus would NEVER make it to India with the ships and provisions he had.
And Columbus would have never made it to India- even if there was a clear naval passage straight through America - but he did have (barely) enough to make it to the West Indies.
That is another somewhat common fallacy that the President is too stupid to know isn’t true.
When Columbus started his journey, most everybody believed the earth was round.
But in fact, they knew about how big it was. What they didn’t know was that the Americas existed. Columbus was trying to sail to Asia.
But most people knew the circumference of the earth, and knew Columbus didn’t have the provisions to make it to Asia. Columbus thought they were wrong, and that the earth was about half the size it really is.
But he got lucky, and ran into a large land mass. He thought it was Asia, and it took a while to figure out he was wrong about that.
Yeah, and President Hayes didn’t like helicopters.
Good job. You beat me — although I think only because I posted to the other copy of the thread, which got pulled :-)
Columbus found 57 states..
I also see him turning on over 50% of the people of this country. He also acts like a cheer leader of a high school football team. I’ve never heard a President yell and scream at an audience.
Apparently Obama got his history from watching a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
"You've found Ohio, Columbus!"
"That's Columbus, Ohio."
Republicans are more akin to the Spanish explorers. Democrats prefer to conduct Inquisitions and claim explorers’ treasure for themselves.
And in the present, the Democrats are at war with the Catholic Church, the Republicans aren't.
With all that bad AGW science Shakra-boy was spewing, and the fact that Obama was ready to tax the US out of business with the Carbon market, I’d be careful chucking stones in that direction.
I’m surprised, under democrats, phrenology hasn’t made a comeback. We don’t send our own guys to space anymore, under this genius.
“Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
The election’s on its way!”
So Obama the urban PC liberal is now PRO-Columbus!!?
I thought Columbus was this racist white European bringing imperialism oppresion and pandemics to the innocent indigenous peoples of the New World.
In 1992 the 500th anniversary, Obama must have been screaming bloody murder at the observance.
Funny, because today’s DNC’ers wouldn’t have let ships to even be built during Columbus’ time.
Is Obama really so stupid as to not know the world was known to be spherical when Columbus sailed?
