Most Important Part of the Interview:

“The reason I was able to win before is because people, while they didn’t always agree with me, they knew where I stood and they knew that I did what I believed was right and that I stood for what I believe in, and they could TRUST me even though they didn’t necessarily agree. I think for a president, there are very few people who believe or vote for somebody because they agree with them on everything. Most people don’t agree with everybody on everything, but they want to believe that that person is TRUSTWORTHY. They want to believe that they’re authentic. They want to believe that they’re gonna actually do what they say they’re gonna do and can be TRUSTED and for a long time in Pennsylvania that was enough for me to get a lot of moderate and conservative Democrats to join Republicans and win.”

Conservatism gave Reagan is victories in 80 and 84, but Trust and Likeability gave him the landslide margins. Rick Santorum absolutely gets the formula for bringing the Reagan Democrats back over. This is why he is the most formidable opponent to go up against Obama.

Thank you. I heard this live, and I remember hoping at the time that Rick’s campaign would be successful. I’ve been very proud of him as a fellow Pennsylvanian. Bob

I loved his comments about how Americans need a good communicator. And Rush told Rick, “Your passion is infectious”. There’s so much in the interview that describes perfectly what Rick Santorum is all about.

I loved his comments about how Americans need a good communicator.

Interesting. When I've heard Santorum speak at length, I've been impressed at his ability to communicate big ideas/principles without notes or a telemprompter. I have thought the same thing.....this is what America needs.

What's interesting to me is how conspicuously absent anything he now says on the campaign trail doesn't appear in any of the broadcast media unless they think it can make him look bad. If you landed here from Mars, you'd think Gingrich was the major contender. I hope FOX’s ratings are experiencing a major dropoff.

He was my choice #3. Cain/Newt/Santorum

Had not seen or heard this interview with Rush.

But Rush is Correct this year has become a battle between the Fiscal Conservatives and the Social Conservatives. Neither is wrong we have to have both.

Santorum is a Social Conservative first that is his comfort zone. I dont think Social Conservatism alone will win over the Indepedants when Unemployment is nearing 20% or Federal Debt is nearing 16 trillion dollars.

First if he is to win the GE then he has to control his message not answer to the Press. Secondly he has to declare war on the current Administration.

Time will tell if he is the right man for the job.

IMHO
