I have seen a lot of FReepers state that they would NEVER cast a vote for Romney. That is my gut reaction as well. Mitt is on record saying that I will vote for him eventually. His arrogance makes me want to prove him wrong and write in a candidate. But I fear that will lead to 4 more years of Obama. Until I stare at the ballot in November, I don't know for sure what I will do. If it is a choice between Obama and Romney, what will you do?

I won't, but I relate that to geography as much as philosophy. As I live in the deep blue state of Illinois I know with absolute certitude that the electoral votes of my state will go to Obama. So then I must consider what I can do with my presidential vote that will be to the best advantage. There are only four possible outcomes. In each case I am better off voting against Romney.
(1)Romney loses in a blow out. Nothing I do matters. In that case I may as well do a write in the most conservative guy I can think of so I can at least salvage my pride while I watch the country burn.
(2) Romney goes down in a close race. If I vote for Romney I help to convince the GOP that running a RINO is a good idea, as he "almost won". In reality if they don't win this year the GOP is finished. I am better off voting for a Green candidate for president and GOP down ticket in hopes of promoting a party that will split the Democrats someplace down the road.
(3) Romney wins in a close race. If Romney wins it is a virtual certitude that we will take the House and Senate. Therefore I want Romney to be as weak a president as possible as the House and Senate will be more conservative than he is. Having him drop the popular vote is one way of achieving this. I want the House and Senate to be able to quash liberal Romney judges and the all new and improved Romneycare. So I will once again vote Green for president and GOP down ticket.
(4) Romney wins in a blowout. Nothing I do mattes can influence Romney for the better, so I may as well cause some chaos on the other side by promoting the crazy party.

those days are over Obama gets another four and they may well be over for good. There will be no turning back. He has some radical changes in store for us. He will come after conservatives with a vengence if he wins another term.

The Republicans, damn them, could nominate a bucket of fried chicken and it would make a better and less damaging President than what we have now. The choice between a Liberal and a Communist would be hugely frustrating and unpleasant but still pretty clear.

No Sir, the real dorks are the lemmings who will take it up the tale pipe every 4 years just because the GOPe tells them they have no other choice. If Obama is re-elected, it will be the fault ot the GOPe, not myself.. I will sleep well on election night.

No: Here is my reason(s).
Obama and Romney share or are not significantly different in their views with respect to at least the following issues based on their actions:
1. Gun control;
2. Abortion;
3. Illegals;
4. Appointing liberal judges;
5. Global Warming/cap & Trade/ UN Agenda 21
6. Homosexual Agenda;
7. Hostility to US Constitution;
8. Deficit spending;
9. Entitlement programs;
10.Government takeover of the health care industry;
11.Higher gas prices exacerbated by an anti-drilling agenda;
12.Undeclared wars and foreign aid;
13.Burdensome job-killing regulations;
14.Unions;
15.Crony Capitalism;
16. Etc.
Thus, with Obama in the White House The GOP will fight alongside Americans like myself opposed to the above examples of America destroying actions from the White house. But, with Romney in there, the GOP, Fox and most of the Republican pundits will fight against Americans who are opposing the same America destroying actions that Obama has and is doing because the politician has an R after his name.
In battle, its better to know have a known enemy in front then a traitor within your own ranks.
Let not have to make that choice.

As will I.....it is much harder for a blatant socialist, like Obama to pass his agenda, than it is for a stealth socialist, like Romney.

You can’t believe that Romney and Obama are indistinguishable?!!! Yeah, Romney isn’t what we want, but obama is a dedicated Marxist and runs roughshod over the citizenry in a far more dangerous manner!

See my reply #143. I explain quite clearly under what circumstances I will not vote for Romney. And it turns out to be all of them.

We need the Republicans in DC to be in opposition to Obamacare, gun control, Cap-n-Trade, etc., which they won’t be if Romney is President and supporting these leftist idiocies.
For that very reason, I will write in some one unless there is a third party candidate who looks very good. I wrote in William Howard Taft with Palin in the VP spot last time round—if McCain wanted to be the second coming of Teddy Roosevelt, it seemed a most appropriate pick. If it is Mittens, I may write in Coolidge—a Mass. governor I could stomach. If the VP choice is good, I may again opt for writing in the VP—it will give the lawyers something to fight about, and if it is close enough for a vote to count, the outcome will be determined not by votes but by lawyers.

I dont give a GD who our candidate is in November, I will be voting for him, to send that disrespectful America hating A-hole back to Chicago.
That is the Prime Directive.

No.
I’m a voter, not a hostage.
Either the GOP puts up a credible answer to socialism, or it doesn’t. Romney is every bit the socialist that Obama is. They differ in approach and in style, but not in philosophy.
Until he fully and completely admits Masscare was a mistake, we have a socialist on our hands. It really is that simple.
Fact is, Romney’s now beyond apologizing at this point because any apology he’d make from here in will be for pandering to conservatives, and not because he actually believed he made a mistake.

Surely it’s a no-brainer, you have to vote for any alternative to Obama. He’s just too dangerous to leave in office. There would be ways of improving the basic Romney during the term, he’s somewhat of a blank slate which means that political pressure could bear results. To me, it’s like asking, do you want to face the firing squad, or pay a ten dollar fine?
To: svcw
Because of your last statement you have become Barack Obama’s best friend in the world. He cannot win without you. I’m sure you don’t care.
Someone will have to shoot me dead to stop me from voting against BHO in November.

I will not vote for Romney.
I will vote on all the other parts of my ballot, but I will be a classic “undervoter” in the space for President/VP.
I had not heard that Romney is stating that we ‘will vote for him eventually’. That an arrogant A$$. He needs to go fill himself up with more ‘cheesy grits’.
He could TRY to come right onto my property & TRY to sway me to vote for him, but he would be met with orders to remove himself & his entourage from my PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!
To: BO Stinkss
Hell yes. Obama is evil. Period.
