There has been no measure of his listenership since the Fluke flap. But nonpartisan radio expert Michael Harrison told The Daily Caller that Limbaughs numbers likely are going nowhere but up despite the anti-Limbaugh push.
Harrison is founder and publisher of Talkers magazine, the industrys leading trade journal.
According to Harrison, even if all the publicity is negative, it is a good bet that Rush is enjoying pretty high ratings last week and going into this week.
The irony is that he probably right now has the biggest audience hes had in years, and the double irony of all this is sponsors that are fleeing, theyre missing out on the best advertising buy in radio, Harrison told TheDC in an interview, explaining that Limbaugh incites passion on all fronts.
Limbaughs fans, said Harrison, will galvanize around him, not abandon him. Many of his detractors are listening because they feel vindicated, he explained, and still others are tuning in to hear what the fuss is about.

Couldn’t happen to a better guy!
Of course Rush’s audience just grows and grows as more and more people realize just how hypocritical and dissimulating the Leftist media are. Once a person wakes up to the blatant lies being packaged as news, they can’t ever watch the lame street media again. They become grateful listeners to those who actually have facts and teach something worthwhile.
Truth resonates. The people who listen to Rush have always been working-class lunch-hour folks with a job. They are emboldened by hearing someone who echos their thinking.
The lunch hour is an escape back to sanity.
Backfire!
snicker, snicker
Yup. The first two times I ever heard the name “Limbaugh” were from liberal sources carrying on about how horrible Rush was. The third was when I hunted down a station that carried him and tuned in to find out what the fuss was about. I’ve been listening ever since.
Somewhere, Dale (SleepTrain) sobbs, head in hands....!
GOOD ON RUSH...!!!
I hope Rush does NOT retire, even if he does achieve his goal of having 98% of his listeners agreeing with him;)
YYYYeeeeeeeeeeessssssss!
Rush simply can never retire, he's a national treasure and cannot be replaced.
Rush was hinting on today’s show that his audience has almost doubled since he got Fluked.
Rush was hinting on today’s show that his audience has almost doubled since he got Fluked. So I guess in this case, getting Fluked was a good thing.
ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN et al can eat their hearts out. None of them comes even remotely close to the audience Rush commands. Rush often plays audio clips of the MSM wherein the same EXACT keywords are each news anchor’s “story.” It’s despicable and clearly scripted from whatever liberal or WH source they use. No wonder these media propagandists are irrelevant in today’s news world. They are responsible for their own demise.
To paraphrase my Father, Rush could fall in a Cesspool and come out smelling like a Rose.
Good for him.
What a benighted phrase. It is obviously because of the anti-Limbaugh push. It has happened several times before and will happen again. And again. There are some subjects that Leftists are incapable of understanding.
I hope he makes the most of it both financially and politically.

The people the Left organize to demonize are the ones they’re a afraid of. The people they attack and try to get the public to hate are the extraordinary smart people who are exposing the true agenda and methods of the Left. That’s a truth we’ve witnesses time and time again and you can take to the bank.
