But... but... but... the LAW says you can’t carry a gun in a Federal building. This isn’t possible!

(Note: It’s not legal to carry in a courthouse in Florida. Texas might be different.)

Yep. I was just there at that very courthouse building for jury duty this morning. Case got dismissed, and I left about an hour before all this happened.

317th District Judge Larry Thorne tells 12NewsNow.Com the shooter is Nathaniel Bartholomew who had a court hearing set for Wednesday afternoon. He was in court today facing aggravated sexual assault charges on his daughter who is mentally challenged. The daughter is one of the victim’s who died in the shooting.

if one of them hostages was carrying their own gun, this would be over in a flash.
oh wait. if they ban guns from courthouses, this couldn’t happen. so it must not be.

That’s impossible. There are signs forbidding privately owned firearms on the premises. Nobody would bring a firearm to a location where they are not allowed. That’s why there are no privately owned firearms in Chicago.

As I recall, this happened before in Texas. It was in a square in front of the courthouse. An office worker opened his window and shot the perp.
