President Obama on Tuesday said he viewed the killing of 16 Afghan civilians by a U.S. soldier as seriously as if those killed had been Americans.

The MSM usually goes to great pains to use the word "ALLEGED" when referring to the common criminal.

No such courtesy is given to a suspected U.S. Soldier. Interesting.

Unless I’m quite mistaken, the UCMJ makes no distinction between Americans and others as to the penalty for murder.

Personally, I find it very odd that quite a few here find it difficult to flatly condemn the mass murder of unarmed people, including children. Unless you believe babies somehow carry guilt for what their parents or fellow citizens might have done.

Obviously we don’t know the whole story, and if the guy indeed has brain damage he might have diminished capability.

But intentionally killing unarmed innocent people should be punished to the full extent of the law, regardless of who those people are.

So, when’s THIS going to be classified as “workplace violence”?

How about the killing of US agents and hundreds of Mexicans from guns that illegally went to Mexico via Fast and Furious why isn't Obie, Holder and those at ATF, DOJ and USA who okayed the crime and mass murders being prosecuted? Maybe if we find one of the victims was a muslim someone will do something?

The press is conspicuosly absent on this issue also...

Note Post #18 - IMHO, a very disturbing statement. This was murder, if the reports are correct. There are mitigating factors (his 4th tour), and I’m sure his defense counsel will make use of them, but that doesn’t mean he gets a pass.

I'm so disgusted. Obviously, the soldier lost it. The soldiers around him must be furious at our CIC.

Oh man, I can't even begin to imagine how they must be feeling.

The soldier needs a medical and psychiatric evaluation and care (apparently he'd suffered a brain injury), not prosecution and the death penalty. Panetta and Obama are making me sick.

Right.

A good many around here seem to assume any American soldier accused of a crime is innocent. Quite remarkably different from their reaction when an American cop is accused of something.

We’re supposed to be the good guys. The good guys don’t intentionally kill innocent women and children. If we do, or if we make excuses for those who do, we’re no longer the good guys.

Seems very simple to me.

I wonder if the “nits make lice” types realize similar “logic” makes attacks on American women and children equally justifiable by those who feel aggreived by America.

IF the situation is as reported, and that’s a really big IF, the shooter should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Agreed....but the POTUS and Defense Secretary need to STFU about it, and let military justice handle it.

Killing Afghans as serious as killing Americans, but killing thousands of Mexicans is okay with the O.

"The U.S. takes this as seriously as if it were our own citizens and our own children who were murdered," Obama said at the White House.

Interesting, Zero finds it necessary to say this. I'll bet no one asked him if there was a difference. For Obama, Afghan citizens and children are his own.

What I find totally unbelievable about this story is that the village did nothing to stop him. This is a people that will kill their own kids for supposedly dishonoring the family. That believes that suicide bombing is ok. Yet not one tries to stop him in the actual act, sounds more like a set up to me.

Americans are killed by Afghans and the 0 apologizes to the Muslims. The 0 since he assumed an Office he is NOT qualified to hold under our Written Constitution ,has had one goal in mind the Destruction of this nation. In Afghanistan-as anywhere in the House of Islam—his goal has been to prepare America to be Slave of Allah Our men and women have served the dishonorable —with honor. THEY are to be awarded all praise —He has his reward—the death of EVERY American since he took Office. Had he treated the death of Americans as seriously as he has the deaths of the enemy I might think better of him.
But he is the clear and present danger confronting this nation. He is the enemy domestic and foreign.
