Weakness and fecklessness. At the very least.

This sounds way too fishy. I’m going to wait and see what “facts” come out.

So far it’s like the crap we heard about Ft. Hood - no true specifics. And then we find out...

Really, if they're willing to murder people over burned books, imagine the intensity of Afghan hatred for a truly heinous crime against sleeping civilians...

In their culture human life is not so important as the book.

Now what is it that we are not being told?

From the article: "My view, which I've maintained for several years, is that we should leave Afghanistan to the Afghans, but tell their central government and each of the nation's powerful warlords that should any harm befall American interests anywhere in the world due to people whom we can trace back, in an operational sense, to areas under their control, we will turn those areas into glass, making sure to target the areas' rulers and their families, and we will then douse every body we can find with pig blood, so they cannot enter the Muslim version of heaven."

Been my view since 9/11, but for all Arab/Persian nations practicing Islam!

There is, of course, no rational excuse for the killings.

That said, I hope that the sergeant gets the thoroughest of physical exams, including one or more MRI brain scans. It would be useful to rule-out such things as a tumor or other growths, or perhaps encephalitis of one kind or another (e.g. rabies or West Nile encephalitis).

Drug screening also comes to mind, although a positive drug test would not be what we need to hear right now.

Who gives a flying fig? Not me for sure,

Obammy apologizes for 15 or 16 dead killed by an American. Yet that many are killed by their fellow Americans in his home town of Chicago (or maybe in his old destrict) every damn weekend and not a whimper out of him.

I won't rush to judgement regarding the specifics of the case as there is so much still out there.

What really stinks is that they are doing a darned good job witholding details on this alleged shooter, such as a basic military issue photograph, last name, physical description, race, etc. I would imagine going into the Pashto or Urdu based local press in Afghanistan for eyewitness accounts or something might yield, much more quickly than CNN or the DOD, what the story is on this guy. Something is fishy if they will not release those details. Arabic/Islamist (Nidal Hasan) type guy over sectarian issues? Black or other minority? Staged by Aghani disinformatizya as a premise to push out US troops all that faster?

I just don't know, and I would say anyone here might not know.

Having said that, in my research, I will say this: I saw local photos in some Afghan press that, because of their customs as differing from ours, would never see the light of day in the US and Western press, or would be blurred out. These were not blurred and were in full color.

If not staged, or a Reichstag fire to blame US troops, I can tell you with out a doubt that this in Kandahar was a most difficult scene to behold, especially of the little Afghani kids with half their heads' shot off and then bodies set afire like a barbeque--I guess they were just sleeping at the time. Too bad nobody got there (again if the charged is guilty) to have double tapped him ASAP and put him down on the spot. We are talking serious small Auschwitz and small Pol Pot/Killing Fields here, or a small Beslan. We are talking My Lai (Song My) village. Or, conversely, what the Vietcong or NVA did to what they considered traitors allied with the USA.

Look I know Islamofascists cutting off heads of "infidels" and suicide bombings have been horrendous as well. What I am saying is the crime scenes, if they are to be believed, are in one word "hell", and if this Sgt. in fact snapped or whatever and went and did these multiple acts, indeed, Lord have mercy on his soul, because certainly the Afghan people are not going to have any. Book it to the bank. I would NOT want to be a "round eye" in that place right about now.

The U.S. has not tried to win a war since World War II. I submit that this nation, as constituted today, could not have won World War II, given the actions that had to be taken to win it. The way wars are won is to kill everything over there that moves until those left living beg you to stop; it is then that you will have broken their will.
Until we remember that lesson, we will only continue to screw around in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

i may be the silent minority but from the video of the people around there I believe I see fear and respect.

Some cultures will ONLY respect acts far and beyond normal decerncy, I’m not saying it was right but I have a feeling it sent a message, this was just one soldier...
