That said, I hope that the sergeant gets the thoroughest of physical exams, including one or more MRI brain scans. It would be useful to rule-out such things as a tumor or other growths, or perhaps encephalitis of one kind or another (e.g. rabies or West Nile encephalitis).
Drug screening also comes to mind, although a positive drug test would not be what we need to hear right now.

They ROUTINELY feed our battlefield troops drug cocktails for depression, fatigue, PTSD, anxiety, among other things. These mixtures of drugs inhibit the NATURAL human responses to many situations where right and wrong become a fuzzy blur. It isn’t that you don’t know the difference, you just don’t care. These same ‘treatments’ are responsible for the major uptick in military suicides. It SHOULD be the focus of a major investigation, but it won’t be because it is cheaper than really treating them, and they can CLAIM they are ‘helping’ them.
On the meantime, it is a ticking timebomb and ONE just exploded.
