Arlen doesn’t seem to see the irony in his complaints.
TOOL
You can never ever trust anyone who is “pro choice”. Once they have acquiesced to the wholesale killing of innocent human life, they are quite capable of any treachery.
Hasn’t this human disgrace gone to meet his maker yet?
Poor ol’ Arlen - I wonder how it feels to be a useful idiot, kicked to the curb like a used-up prom date?
And who is this Bob Dole guy - didn’t he lose an election once?
Yea, but the GOP establishment stuck by Specter for decades. See something in common here?
“The turncoat complains about being stabbed in the back. Irony.”
Good post. Politicans are only looking out for themselves. Many if not most of them are turncoats; instead of bolting from their party, they will gladly sell their votes for personal expediency and the chance to stay in office.
Laetr in life, Benedict Arnold was unhappy with his treatment by the British. Go figure.
I vividly recall participating in the 1996 presidential election. I vividly recall that NO ONE was at all enthusiastic about Bob Dole. Dole, much like I think Romney would have to, spent the majority of his presidential campaign trying to woo and win his base. The base simply did not trust Dole and knew he was a RINO. Even the Clinton team, who recall was in jeopardy after the 1994 election disaster, publicly recounted their blessing by having such a weak candidate like Dole as their opponent.
Yes, I think this is exceedingly revelatory about Dole. It should also show as an intense warning about Romney!
I actually met Specter not long before he left office. I’d have to say, I think he was quite unwell, both mentally and physically. I don’t think he ever fully recovered from the brain tumor, and the fact that he is no longer the center of attention is no doubt causing an Al Gore-like crackup.
Perhaps a bit cruel to pick on him at this point, in my view.
It defies rationality, that one would think that by joining forces with the enemy, one would be offered a place at the head of the table... Remember Judas Iscariot? Go hang yourself Arlen!
McConnell asked me in front of the others if I was going to criticize him or the Republican caucus for my decision. He was worried that I might blame him, Specter wrote. Absolutely not, I wrote.
There's some leadership for ya.

Screw him, he made his bed, now he gets to lie in it.
Tossed away like a whore
Sweet, sweet justice.
Obama has that look of “I can’t believe this a-hole fell for it.”
Arlen, STFU and go away. You SLUT.
My heart bleeds.
