KABUL, Afghanistan – The Taliban is vowing revenge against the U.S. after an American soldier allegedly shot and killed 16 Afghan civilians in a Sunday rampage.
In a statement on their website, the militant group promised to "take revenge from the invaders and the savage murderers for every single martyr."
They added "American savages" committed the "blood-soaked and inhumane crime."
"If the perpetrators of this massacre were in fact mentally ill then this testifies to yet another moral transgression by the American military because they are arming lunatics in Afghanistan who turn their weapons against the defenseless Afghans without giving a second thought," the statement said.
Afghan officials reported nine of the 16 victims were children and three were women. They said some of the bodies were also found to be charred.
The veteran American army staff sergeant allegedly left his base in the Panjway district of Kandahar province and walked about a mile to a nearby village, where he went on a house-to-house rampage, methodically shooting Afghan civilians.

Now here's a subject that the Taliban can speak about with some authority.
Lunatics ‘R Us = islam/muslims.
Why are the details so sketchy? How long was this guy gone from the base? How did some of the bodies get charred? What was the perpetrator’s name? This story feels very odd to me.
With Islam, there are no “civilians”.
I think I read on FR that an air-strike was involved.
It will be interesting to know what is this “American” soldier’s name? This smells fishy. - Of course, Hussein has already apologized.

Lord, I lift up our troops to you and ask that you put a hedge of protection around each one of our military men and women so that nothing will happen to them. Give them wisdom of their surroundings as they move around. Let them have discernment. Conform them and their families with the peace that only you can give. Let is be all for your Glory! Rev up the helicopters. This is unsustainable. We should have talked to the Russians about trying to gain control of that Middle Ages backward, moon worshipping, women enslavig cesspool. This is Saigon, 1975. Time to bug out and cut the losses. It has become to much of a burden, this ‘Nation Building’....it is just not worth it to die young for President Obama and Secretaries Clinton and Panetta in a foreign, ungrateful hellhole.
