I’m not buying the poll numbers that have Romney even with a slight lead. I’m just not.

RL, Newt said today, that Romney might get a 3rd- or- more likely 25-28% of the vote.

It’s the even split with Rick that’s hurting.

Superb!

Support for a Speaker Newt Gingrich, a solid Christian Constitutional Conservative will be strong in Mississippi, one of the most, if not the most Patriotic state in these United States.

The Magnolia State is where slavery once existed under the Democrat party. In a remarkable change that I witnessed in my lifetime, the good Bible-believing people of Mississippi now fully embrace freedom and liberty and our Constitutional principles.

Evidence of that is abundant with its solid pro-life and pro-gun stance. And with Mississippi's support of Right to Work laws, workers are free from the tyranny of union thugs.

Even as far back as 1964, Conservatism was on the rise in Mississippi by voting for Barry Goldwater, a brave American whom I wholeheartedly supported and actively campaigned for.

Although I live in Texas, I frequently visit longtime friends in Mississippi and enjoy its family-friendly clean, sandy beaches. It may be the most hospitable state in the entire South. And that's saying something since our whole region is known for its great people and charm. I hope I don't lose my Texas citizenship, but their welcome centers are the best anywhere.

President Ronald Reagan's successful 1980 campaign soared with his speech at the Neshoba County Fair. And I think Mississippi will go for Newt Gingrich in a BIG way!

Yeah, it’s really a Newt/Santorum race. Well, it is for me anyway.

I have a number of kin in Rankin county

Crossgates, Hwy 18 towards Pulaski, Pelahatchie Bay and so forth

it’s very conservative though sadly....

Pearl appears to being heading down a dark turn lately

I'm familiar with the Jackson area, mostly Madison where my friends live. It's a nice, clean, safe area -- great for families. I had always heard that Pearl wasn't so bad. What's going on down there nowadays? Yankee liberals moving in?

going more “hood”

and even getting some “wi$$ers” ...a group not seen so much down there like here in Middle Tn where they are a plague in lower income white areas

Rankin county was once strictly white except for old sharecropper Reconstruction era plots who were sorta grandfathered in and accepted by the locals...blacks were discouraged from Rankin county until the 90s I’d say..not by force...just unwelcome

Madison county is fairly bucolic...my old stomping grounds...Canton is black mostly but otherwise Madison is where most of the whites from Jackson went

a fair number Jackson expats are here in Middle TN too...many docs

I’m watching this now. My ride to the event fell through at 2:30PM on Sunday, so I sugared-out on Key Lime Pie and went to sleep until now. I’m so happy he got a full house!

This is such a wonderful speech!!

He’s funny and serious!

>> so I sugared-out on Key Lime Pie

LOL, I hope not the *whole* pie. But given the circumstances, it would be understandable.

Only about a fourth of the pie. Look at the crowd. I would have been right up front. I’m sure he spent time shaking hands.

This is such a wonderful speech. He has to win.

The others are nothing compared to him, but I’m convinced most people are voting “with the polls.”

Such a crime, this election is too important to ignore Newt Gingrich.

He's in this race all the way to Tampa so the establishment and all others can stop calling for him to drop out!

GO NEWT!

I agree. Too bad you couldn’t make it.

Can’t review the speech now, but will do a bit later.

As far as the voters go, difficult to understand why Newt’s not garnering the overwhelming percentage. Hopefully, things will continue to improve.

Newt is who the left fears can win..Newt would kick Obama’s ass so badly he wouldn’t know what hit him. I am hoping and praying that Newt wins both MS and AL on Tuesday!

I’m praying, hoping and trying to get him as many votes as I can here locally. Four girls from the hair salon I go to are voting for Newt. I was surprised I didn’t have to make my sales pitch, so I asked them why and they said their parents are too! (No Yankees..lol.) Sounds good!
