Wow. We need something like this on our southern border.
That is extremely impressive.
Problem is, 0.01% can ruin your whole day. If one out of 100 gets through and lands on you head, thre’s no headache. There’s no head.
Life is not perfect especially in missile defense. Some will get through.
Shouldn't they be firing three?
1 to intercept
1 to make sure you intercept
1 to see if the Palestinian population centers are protected by an Iron Dome system
I just knew you would like it.
Iron Dome has three central components:
1.Detection & Tracking Radar:
2.Battle Management & Weapon Control
3.Missile Firing Unit
Still the wrong way of handling this.
The proper procedure would be one round of 155 mm arty counterbattery fire for every rocket launched.
Don’t tell me it can’t be done, either. With the systems available today, you can pinpoint a launch site seconds after the first rocket lifts. A good team of cannon-cockers can have steel rain down on that position fast enough to get the launchers, and of course, the launchees.
And I don’t give a rat’s hind end if it’s a mosque, a hospital or even an orphanage. Once it became clear that EVERY rocket would get the same treatment, the Pallies would stop the launch turds from setting them up.
Your theory needs to be tested then.
Works for me.....and would probably work in real life.
And that is why we probably won’t see it happen.
add component 4 -
counterbattery unit.
Tracking radars can tell you where the battery is, and where to lay counterbattery fire.
Yes, the lefties will whine about “civilian casualties”.
Guess what, bunkie, locating offensive weaponry next to civilians (a.k.a. “human shields”) is considered a war crime, except the lefties turn a blind eye. So if the lefties care so much, why don’t they volunteer to “defend” the Kassam batteries? What say you, Sean Penn, Bill Ayers, Medea Benjamin?
I like the thought (being an old artilleryman); but the problem is they fire the suckers and beat feet - they’re not there when the HE arrives. Israel should turn Gaza into a parking lot on the beach.

Now this is getting too complicated. Can we just start over?
Component 1: Preemptive strike.
Thank You for your answer. I am not an expert in artillery
Well, the other end of the problem is economic. I understand it’s a 50K super-intelligent missile to shoot down a $300 unguided rocket. Of course, considering that this type of basically homegrown rocket don’t really cause any widespread damage (of course, not any comfort if you happen to be under one), it’s good target practice for now.
Does that You tube video exist and can you link it?
