When the kerfufle started last week, and "sponsors" started to bail, I did my part. I called Carbonite and cancelled, and told them I was going to Mosey because of their company's lack of spine.
I was so happy to see their stock tank later that day. Then I found this on a blog, explaining CARB's long decline:

Carbonite’s kamikaze CEO David Friend couldn’t deal with Rush Limbaugh’s absurdist political humor about a strident 30-year-old political activist who publicly demands that others pay for law students’ contraception at a Catholic institution.
Friend arrogantly dragged the money-losing Carbonite into his personal zone of political correctness, unnecessarily alienating millions of current and potential customers and focusing a nationwide spotlight on the company’s hopeless financials.
What can Friend now do to rescue Carbonite from this bad publicity and from the exposure of his ocean of red ink?
He cannot compete with the startups on price/service, and even if he cleans Limbaugh’s shoes with his tongue, Carbonite will never regain the favor of Limbaugh’s (or Mark Levin’s) massive audience.
Expect Carbonite’s venture capital owners to invite Friend to quietly leave to “pursue other opportunities.”
Keep it up, people. WE ARE THE MAJORITY!

Rush has nailed this one beautifully. It’s like Clinton demanding greater scrutiny of sexual abusers, or Ted Kennedy demanding longer jail terms for deaths caused by alcohol consumption. Someone on the Left should have said, “Do we really want to make this a national issue, given our own history?”

Yes of course there's that. But IMO there is the more important Left-wing tactics of Mau-Mauing, threats, and actual violence.
I recall the 1950s when the Soviet-style tempest against someone in disfavor (an anti-communist for example) became the 1960s New Left's Mau-Mauing, threats, and violence.
For decades the conservative targets yielded 90+ percent of the real issue to escape the abuse heaped upon them enabling the Lefties to advance another notch.
The aging 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus spoiled brats (New Left) and their ideological issue (Rat Party) once again is "sitting out there in stunned confusion trying to figure out why it" failed again!..
they cannot get it that the "Fairness Doctrine" is gone and we have modern talk radio; to wit, the silenced generation is no longer and we are free to express opinion and know "the way it REALLY is." Their MSM Walter "North Viet Nam's most trusted man in America" Cronkite is gone! Also even in their 60s the 60's spoiled brat punks suck.

Besides the critical economic response, the person who stopped this debacle cold politically was Kirstin Powers, not Rush Limbaugh.
I Hope Rush Limbaugh Gets Arrested
Gloria AllredLiberal lawyer Gloria Allred wants Rush Limbaugh arrested. She may want to rethink this latest publicity stunt.
By the now the Left was sure that Rush Limbaugh would be off the air. His comments about Georgetown law Student Sandra Fluke and the list of companies that cancelled their advertising for his how had them dancing with glee. Their biggest political thorn in the flesh was going down. No such luck.
The outpouring of support for Rush Limbaugh has been overwhelming. Advertisers have been replaced. Rush has shown the utter hypocrisy of the mainstream media by pointing out the laundry list of liberal rants and verbal sexual attacks on conservative women. Even many in the media are commenting on it. For example, Kirsten Powers, a Fox News analyst, wrote “Rush Limbaugh Isn’t the Only Media Misogynist” for the Daily Beast. Here’s how she opens her article:
Did you know there is a war on women?
Yes, it’s true. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, and Ed Schultz have been waging it for years with their misogynist outbursts. There have been boycotts by people on the left who are outraged that these guys still have jobs. Oh, wait. Sorry, that never happened.
Exactly! It never happened. “But if Limbaugh’s actions demand a boycott — and they do —,” Powers wrote, “then what about the army of swine on the left? Boycotts are reserved for people on the right like Rush Limbaugh. . . .”
An example of the double standard is Gloria Allred, the Left’s premier legal attack dog. She wants Limbaugh prosecuted for calling Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute.” She wrote a letter to the Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe asking whether Limbaugh had violated Section 836.04 of the Florida Statutes.
The statute stipulates that anyone who “speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity” is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. If Rush was found guilty, the maximum penalty would be one year in jail and a $1000 fine.
I would love to see this go to trial. Ms. Fluke would have to testify as to her sexual history. In doing so, it might confirm the very things Rush said about her. Witnesses would be called to testify. While I don’t know how many sexual partners Ms. Fluke has had, but just to ask the questions would prove much more embarrassing to her.
Then the issue of the liberal double standard would be brought out. There’s so much of evidence of this that we might see liberal talkers brought to trial as well. We might even see some politicians face the judge. It would be heaven. You know Rush Limbaugh would have the best high-profile lawyers defending him. It would be Oliver North and Iran-Contra all over again. The best in free entertainment.
Liberals are trying to get around the double standard accusation by claiming that the conservative women who were verbally attacked with sexual barbs were “public figures.” As soon as Ms. Fluke agreed to speak out publicly on the birth control issue, she became a public figure. She has since appeared on a number of radio and television shows.
Liberal hypocrisy runs deep. Let’s go to trial!

I think people who have pulled advertising will find out the hard way that screeching feminists and manginas will not make up for any lost revenue from conservatives.
