Santorum on Bush Team in 2006 when GOP & Santorum lost House, Senate. Obama easily beats Rick.
March 10, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Posted on 03/09/2012 10:20:08 PM PST by mitchell001

Obama could easily beat Rick Santorum, because Rick is tightly tied to Bush's high spending and wars. Rick got kicked out of his Senate seat in 2006 when the Dems took charge of both the House and the Senate due to the failed policies of the Bush administration. Santorum equals Bush, since Santorum in his own words was a team player in Congress. Obama will blame Santorum for Bush job losses, mortgage failures, bank failures and war spending. Message to GOP, forget Santorum, forget Romney and Romneycare, NOMINATE GINGRICH.

“we were asked to join “Le Resistance” to stop Romney.”

Who is we and by whom were we asked?

You need to keep better track of current events!

Obama has already started blaming Bush for all the money he was “forced” to spend to save the country. And believe me, the Amerikan Mob is eating it up like cherry/Amaretto cake!

And Santorum will have his ass handed to him, if this electorate is that stupid to nominate him!

Payback is a real bitch.
Sometimes you just have to put conservative principles ... aside.... for a greater cause.

Oh wait, we are not talking about Santorum now, are we

You know better than that. The MSM has buried Newt the last 2 months. But once Newt gets back in front and his message starts getting heard again, that will change on it's own.

Newt sells when his is allowed to speak. The fickle public also changes over night once they start hearing what Newt has to say.

Santorum is way behind Obama in the polls. (10 to 15 points)
He IS a disaster. No room for debate here.

Endorsements are part of the game of vetting and should be explored and weighted in choosing a candidate. Yet, if we are to apply your standards in deciding what a candidate's core values are, then we've also just eliminated Gingrich as a candidate, via his strong, more recent anti-Tea Party endorsement of Dede Scozzafava.

There are no perfect candidates. We choose whom we view as the best representatives given our options. I would support either Santorum or Gingrich versus Romney. You have decided to ignore any Gingrich associations and endorsements and focus on Santorum’s. If that makes you feel better about Gingrich, more power to you.

nah, people don't really care anymore about how “Bush made me do it”

All they know is they are gonna be paying $4 a gallon for gas and this bozo has no answers except buy a $40,000 Volt and wait for algae fuel in 10 years

anger anger anger

irrational (or in this year, rational) voter anger

It just has to be focused on... OBAMA.

Bush been gone for 4 years. GITMO still open. Troops still dying in useless war. Economy still in the crapper. Welfare state still growing. GOP needs to recyle the slogan "Is America better off than we were 4 years ago?

What do you mean?

Is Santorum related to anti-conservatism?

Are you angry at freerepublic?

Right, the entire platform if their main agenda. They see this ad as a promotion, so they would never try to make Newt look good to their liberal/environmentalist voters.

They would use it against him, as showing him later denouncing/regretting, ever being in the ad in the first place, but Newt could easily explain his changed position and walk away undamaged.

I point out your hypocrisy in slamming Santorum’s endorsement of Specter while ignoring similar or worse endorsements of RINOS or worse by all the other candidates and so-called conservative leadership

Why try to make this about me? Is that the only answer you got?

For God’s sake man.

You think that trying to do “what” is too far?

What if a man was trying to make the GOP, pro-abortion?

If what you claim is true, then Obama would be polling below 30%, like Bush was.

He is actually polling as good as Reagan was before he was elected to his second term.

what if a man had to hold his nose and pick the candidate he thought would do a better job of choosing our next Supreme Court justice?

I thought Santorum has explained that Specter gave him assurances in that matter and that is what made him decide.

Frankly this is now a micro issue. Obama is the issue.

Character is THE issue, my prediction.
Can Newt beat Obama in the character department?
(crickets)

PS: I am not a man
PPS: If there is anyone running who is pro life and who has walked the walk to show it, and who is being feared by the left and vilified for it, it is Santorum. Palin, the gold standard of conservatism, is rather calculating to choose Newt over character, imho

Here is video of Senator Santorum on stage with Arlen Specter, as Specter is announcing his Presidential run, based on making the GOP a pro-abortion party, Rick Santorum endorsed him, and campaigned for him and his platform.

http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/64281-1

Transcript Highlights:
Santorum is seen nodding and applauding at Specter’s side:

3:46 mark: “In 1996, I intend to win the other house — the White House — with ten commitments to America… including a woman’s right to choose…

13:22 mark: “Even though we have this historic opportunity for these achievements, there are those in our party who would lead us down a different path — and squander this unique moment in our nation’s history — by using our political capital — to pursue a radical social agenda — that would end a woman’s right to choose…

13:48 mark: “When Pat Robertson says there is no constitutional doctrine of separation between Church and State, I say he is wrong…

14:31 mark: “When Ralph Reed says a pro-choice Republican isn’t qualified to be our President, I say the Republican Party will not be intimidated or blackmailed by those kinds of threats.I, and millions of other pro-choice Republicans, will not be disenfranchised and made second class citizens.

15:33 mark: “… it is not Christian, or religious, or Judeo-Christian to bring God into politics; or to advocate intolerance and promote exclusion.

15:54 mark: “I want to take abortion out of politics. I want to keep the Republican Party focused on the vital economic and foreign policy issues — and leave moral issues such as abortion to the conscience of the individual. I believe abortion is an issue to be decided by women…

16:40 mark: “I pledge to lead the fight to strip the strident anti-choice language from the Republican National platform…”

You really have a reading comprehension problem. The Sowell article discusses the strengths and weakness of EACH candidate. Go take another read of the article. Of course, we ALL know that Gingrich is a good debater but that does NOT mean he is electable.

Yeah, Rick made me spend trillions in borrowed money. Guess we just have to go with Newt, and his pro-obamacare, pro-global warming, influence peddling, Nancy Pelosi spooning history.
