From the Grist -
But theyve now ruled it right back in, arresting 26-year-old Sara Barnes for lighting the Senator on fire while sitting inside it doing meth.

Sat in the tree and set it afire? A hollow tree? A tree in her yard or in a park?

Yay, Florida!
(in the interest of full disclosure, I am a proud FL resident, but will wonders never cease?)

Cypress must be really rot resistant.
A few days ago, I drove by my Mother’s old home. The old barn is still there tho it is not being well cared for. It must be at least a hundred years old.
The sides are made from huge slabs of cypress and do not appear to have deteriorated a bit, despite not being painted or treated in any way that I am aware of.
This is in Florida and pine left untreated like that would rot quickly.

I was visiting a machine shop about a mile away.
As I pulled up, I noticed the newschoppers circling.
Soon the smell of smoke was very heavy in the building.
The people in the shop who were locals were very upset.
They were telling me about their grandparents taking them to see it as children. They had taken their children. Now the chain of tradition is broken by a druggie.Drug use - Meth - another liberal victimless drug crime.

I live a couple miles away from the Senator.
It was cold that night. I told my wife that some doper was probably around the tree smoking dope.

This is genuinely disturbing. What a loss...
3,500 years this tree survived everything thrown at it, then some loadie comes along and burns it down on a lark.
Oh well, the Left is doing the same thing to our nation.
. . . . . . .
I’m really sorry this happened.
