Sleep Train, one of the companies that dropped its ads from Rush Limbaugh's radio program after Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute," asked Limbaugh for another chance.
But Limbaugh denied the company's request.
(snip)
The Times added that Limbaugh spokesman Brian Glicklich forwarded an email he said had been sent to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen. According to that email, Limbaugh himself considered the company's request and denied it.
Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the email began. Rush received your requests personally.
Unfortunately," the email continues, "your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh's character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.

No, his priority is loyalty to his audience NOT the advertisers. The advertisers PAY for access to his audience. Letting Sleep Train back in would be putting them before the audience. Rush had little choice here but to tell them to pound sand. Plus, regarding such attempted boycotts, Rush managed to turn the tables on them and send a clear message:
"I'M NOT GLENN BECK."
This little bit of stupidity has badly (or perhaps fatally) hurt several of these advertisers. GREAT to watch.

We need to claim some scalps here. That will send a message to jelly-spined CEOs that there is more to be lost by throwing us under the bus than from tolerating static from Media Matters."And I want my scalps!"

No, “voiced announcement” ... they wanted Rush to deliver the commercial. This isn’t simply buying time on the show.

"This is as obvious as rain on a side walk. Just as obvious is the media's role in the whole promotion."Yes, those of us with common sense have learned that the 24/7 State-Run-Media dis-information machine is one big happy family with the White Hut, and the DNC, AND, backed by the Free Society money-man.
WE don't buy their crap, but mush-heads and parasites want the "rich white bastards" to take care of them, be PENALIZED for their success, and not say a word about their moral depravity or dependency.
We still have a LOT of the Country watching TV, and the crap that's "Entertainment".
In WHAT administrations have Hollywood jerks been pulled in front of Congress as "EXPERTS" on everything from the Economy to Foreign Relations, when they have no CLUE what's happening anywhere, except what they're told?
It's ALWAYS "Progressives" that pull that crap, and the visitors to the White Hut since 2008 have been mostly "celebrities", NOT Heads of State from Foreign Countries, or PEOPLE WHO MATTER.

Who’s Sorry Now?
Who’s Sorry Now?
Sleep Train’s had its way.
Now they must pay.
Rush is glad that they’re sorry now.

Very savvy and wise move on the part of Limbaugh. You don't dump a prime advertising spot because of some human mistake, particularly when you've received unwavering service for 20 years.
Let the conflict-adverse, snot-nosed, 30-somethings who ran for cover learn the hard lesson.

We keep on calling the media either “the elite media” or “the media”.
Why don’t we call them something else. They are no longer the media as they do not report the news, all the truth. They are merely a propaganda machine for liberals.
Time to come up with a name to reflect their actions. They have trashed their credentials as news reporters and no longer are worthy of the title.
The propaganda machine might more accurately reflect their status.

I think Rush should forgive them
in a bit. They reacted in a knee-jerk fashion and figured out that it was not a good idea. My guess is that the Sleep Train PR folks did this real fast and then the financial folks were asked for their input. The financial folks probalbly came back with, "John Q. Public will forget about this in four weeks. Given the size of El Rushbo's audience, it will cost us a lot of sales to do this. And any public good will related to pulling the ads will not make up for the the loss of sales. We think pulling the ads are a stupid, knee-jerk idea." The financial folks won and the PR folks had to eat crow.
Maybe he can forgive them when Sandra Fluke forgives him.

“I feel Rush should forgive”
No. He said the sponser defections, some of them anyway, offended his audience. Rush has said his audience is his most precious asset.

Sounds like shes an expert on beds and bedding.Nah. It sounds more like she's the type who does it in the back seat of a Corvette, standing in the shower or on the bathroom floor.
Beds are for classy whores.

I feel Rush should forgive. Perhaps he has, I don't know. But that doesn't mean he needs to reestablish a relationship with them.
I have forgiven people who have wronged me, yet in some cases I have felt it was best to discontinue the relationship with them going forward.
