Rush Limbaugh has rejected an advertisers apparent attempt to reunite with his show after the company initially dropped its ads from the program following his remarks about contraception advocate Sandra Fluke.
The company, Sleep Train, calls itself the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region.
In an email to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen (obtained by The Blaze), a representative of the show says that Limbaugh personally considered the companys request, but denied it considering its public comments following the controversy.
Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the email begins. Rush received your requests personally.
Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaughs character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.
Rush appreciates your long friendship and your past support, and we wish you good luck in the future.

It would be nice if we’d all call Sleep Train and let them know we’d never think of buying a Sleep Train bed in the future.
Part of my e-mail to ProFlowers:
Your next battle is with the free market. Your company has infuriated many good people; the majority of the people that BUILT your business.

Don't mess with Rush, nor his 20,000,000+ listeners!
Good for him! I have only contempt for a sponsor that tried to come back now. If they decided to make a business decision to drop Limbaugh, so be it. You make that call and you live with the the consequences. I could probably respect that, even if I don’t agree with the call they made or why they made it. But to come back and say “aw, we didn’t really mean it, Rush” after denouncing him very publicly and in no uncertain terms, is just the epitome of corporate weaseldom.
Judging by how fast the Train wanted to get back on Rush’s advertising roster, I have a feeling many people made that call to them.
Rush is a cagey guy. It actually occurred to me that he might have provoked this on purpose to smoke out (and sift out) which of his sponsors are vulnerable to liberal pressure. Then, with his stable thus cleansed and his income stream immunized, he's even more free than before to say what he wants. Might be a long shot, but the thought crossed my mind.
Rush put Sleep Train in the catbird seat with his initial endorsement of the fortuitously helpful product of a company without a good sales plan or even a very attractively named product.
He’s got to know that they’re really going to suffer over their part in egging on Slutgate.
Will some deep pocketed liberal take them under his/her wing (to mix a metaphor)?
Interesting... ;-)
I’d sleep on a train track before buying from Sleep Train.
Excellent!
Sounds like a good ad!
Makes my night, going to bed with a big smile on my face. Laugh out loud!! this is better than just a LOL.
I am just excited that some of these advertisers are gone. Being a listener since the late 80’s, some of these ads bore me to tears they have been around so long. Can’t wait to hear new stuff. I am sure there is a long line of folks that are dying to take their place with their products.
Sleep Train was a local Sacramento shop -- an early sponsor of the Rush Limbaugh show. As Rush's fortunes increased, so did Sleep Train's. Hard to believe the original owner would have made such a stupid move.
He was a little more blatant today. He called that Petri woman’s comments in WaPoo “bitchy” to elicit a response, which in turn would have proven she knew he called out her lies.
IOW, I think that is exactly what he did!
Good for Rush!
He never wants to dis people who sign up with him to get favorable publicity via advertising. Shadenfreude is fun, but not worth endangering business relationships.
