The LEFT with Obama along with the Democrats want to destroy job availability in America according to THIS Free Republic Article. What a surprise (NOT) that the LEFT wants to destroy the economy.

The women at least won the Big East Conference Championship on the women’s side. The men have had a rough season, no doubt. I sense that Coach Jim and Assistant Coach George are grooming former UConn men’s/NBA pro b-ball player to in time take over as head coach in the future when both retire. I sense that may happen soon down the road.

Forgot to add, “grooming former UConn Huskies/NBA b-ball player Kevin Ollie to take over as future head coach.”

Heard it. Fantastic. The main point the doc makes is that it’s NOT cholesterol (exactly what Gary Taubes said 10 years ago) but it’s carbs and above all sugars.

All of this is in my chapter in “Seven Events that Made America America,” called “Ike has a Heart Attack” but I got all my info from a phenomenal book called “Good Calories, Bad Calories” by Gary Taubes. Don’t let the title fool you: it is the most detailed medical/scientific review of all the literature that is out there you could hope to find. Taubes knows his studies. None of them point to meat or fats. All of them point to carbs.

Let me suggest an amazing book by Gary Tabues, who now writes for "Reason" but did write for "Science": "Good Calories, Bad Calories." He shows that it's one thing to have a "study," but if it's not double-blind/control group/peer reviewed, it is not likely to be worth anything. Merely "observing" groups and reporting that as science doesn't mean squat. Anyway, Taubes shows that it's carbs, carbs, carbs that are the threat, not meat, not butter, and not even cholesterol.
I deal with this in my book "Seven Events that Made America America" and look at how the fat/cholesterol/meat explanation soon became the villain in the whole obesity debate. It was political from the get-go.

I haven’t read “Good Calories Bad Calories” yet but I have read Taubes’ “Why We Get Fat”, which is, for lack of a better term a more ‘user friendly’ version. GCBC is definitely on my list though.
I’ve cut out carbs (grains specifically) and vegetable oil and eat mainly meat, eggs and butter now. 90 pounds lost so far but I’d like to lose maybe 30 to 40 pounds more.

Yes, Gary wrote “Why We Get Fat” precisely because so many people were put off by the more daunting bigger book. I haven’t lost weight-—but I do every time I go on his diet. It’s just that I’m married to a woman who is a baking goddess, and the stuff is (to me) irresistable. Since she doesn’t care that much about my body any more :) who am I to decline her cakes and cookies?
