Newtorum or Sangrich? Either one would beat Mitt’s pants off, but they split the conservative vote now.

JACKSON, Miss. -- Rick Santorum called on Mississippi voters to deliver the knockout blow that would end Newt Gingrich's candidacy and make it a two-man race between Mitt Romney and the former Pennsylvania senator for the Republican nomination.

Another mis-step by Santorum.

He is making it hard for me to be able to vote for him if Newt fails.

Is he purposely trying to alienate Gingrich supporters?

Furthermore, all he is doing with this kind of nonsense buying into the false meme that Romney is inevitable, he should have done what Newt's team did today and ask that Romney drop out.

Loser play on his part.

I’m liking santorum less and less. Santorum is politician to the core. Running for office is what he does.

And he looks like an undertaker.

Rick Santorum called on Mississippi voters to deliver the knockout blow that would end Newt Gingrich’s candidacy and make it a two-man race between Mitt Romney and the former Pennsylvania senator for the Republican nomination.

While Santorum and his advisers have not directly called for Gingrich to exit the race, a senior strategist on Tuesday told reporters that they would rally conservative and tea party voters to call on his rival to drop out.

Hahahahahaha! Meanwhile, back at the ranch....

___

But, speaking to CNN, Santorum campaign adviser John Brabender brushed off the Romney campaign’s analysis as “voodoo math,” saying the figures were meant to dissuade voters from casting ballots for rival candidates.

“What he is saying he wants to do is disenfranchise Republican primary voters,” Brabender said, pointing out that many of the delegates currently awarded to Romney in estimates were non-binding

*****************

Mr. Santorum said that anyone calling on Mr. Gingrich to withdraw was “not doing so with my knowledge.” But he made clear to reporters that he would not mind if it were to happen....

They wouldn’t want to disenfranchise voters, now would they? No, they’ve only goodly intentions.

Santorums denial of knowledge sounds an awful lot like a Romney denial during the Fl debate. Yeah right-o, bud. ;)

What a weasel...

Like my dear hubby said tonight, if Rick fools those people in the South and wins. him and I are staying home. We are not voting for him. Obama will beat him silly. If Obama was not so dangerous, it would be almost fun to watch since Ricky is the spoiler since South Carolina. The more I see him, he is turning me off as an opportunist and a fake. My aunt said today, if it's a choice between Mitt and Rick, she will vote for Mitt; and if it's a choice between Mitt and Newt, she will vote for Newt. I keep saying, people will go back to Mitt if the choice is only those 2 (Rick comes across as a preacher who seems to want to have his religion in our personal lives or by having the government tell us how we should have children/or whatever) You Rick supporters are why we are in this mess. Too one sided to put the country first for a long while now; to see the light. It is not God's work, it's foolish people, building up a man (like some did with Obama). It would had been great to have got rid of Mitt sooner. And Rick is not the leader this country needs. The dems have been voting for him-minus those voters and tell us what base that he has. He is only doing well, thanks to Mark Levine and Rush and they can't even get him over to stopping Romney. Thanks, you have successfully helped Rove and the others along with propelling a man who has no platform to make changes in our government. We did the Bush thing for 8 years. Why go back...

Santorum is not smart at all! He is sounding and acting more and more like Romney!
Romney persuading voters to not vote for Santorum is seen as ‘maipulation’ against Santorum himself, but Santorum persuading voters to not vote for Gingrich is perfectly good practice!?

Constantly having to take back what he said or explain what he said! Just like Romney!

Claiming that he has no knowledge of his supporters calling for Gingrich to drop out? - Isn’t that just like what Romney did, claiming he has no knowledge of his superPac’s anti-Gringrich ad?

Ah, the herd mentality - the herd is led by the lamestream and the E straight to the cliff of Romney and Santorum!

While stampeding to the cliff, they can’t see what is good for them and the country!

Santorum is on an ego trip, and when he reaches the end of the line he’ll accept the veep spot on the ticket.
At that point he’ll be running for the office in which his most prominent quality will be put to use — the sourpuss will look appropriate at all the elite funerals.

It may be that MS voters aren’t choosing between Santorum and Gingrich at all but between PA and GA even though Gingrich was born in PA and Santorum in their common state of residence, VA. I would expect MS to go Gingrich.

After all the Newtonian huffing and puffing over this, it’s good to note that Santorum asked THE VOTERS to make it a two-man race. Unlike Newt who personally asked Santorum to drop out.

Should he not campaign for votes in order to avoid offending Newt?

Santorum has my vote and my family's vote. Gingrich is doing terrible...not that I don't like him much better than Paul or Romney, but he should get out. This is America's last chance to reverse Obama’s policies. Newt isn't going to do that...he agrees with too many of them.
