He never recanted the story or anything; it’s all still there. He just didn’t push for interviews or try to publicize it because he wanted to protect his sources. When the story came out about Glenn Beck leaving Fox because Fox refused to provide protection for lower-level staffers I took it as a good sign, that maybe some of the witnesses were feeling more secure. I had hoped maybe they were able to be placed in a witness protection program and so the full story could come out.
Then Breitbart died and Rush got the equivalent of a horse’s head in his bed, the same day as Arpaio’s presser...
