Andrew Kaczynski of Buzzfeed discovered this little gem of a video, in which then-law student Barack Obama spoke at a protest in favor of Harvard Law Professor Derrick Bell.
Kaczynski explains what the protest was all about.
Bell was the first black tenured professor at the school, and a pioneer of "critical race theory," which insisted, controversially, on reading issues of race and power into legal scholarship. His protest that spring was occasioned by Harvard's denial of tenure to a black woman professor, Regina Austin, at a time when only three of the law school's professors were black and only five women. He told Harvard he would take a leave of absence a kind of academic strike "until a woman of color is offered and accepted a tenured position on this faculty," and he launched a hunger strike to dramatize his point.
Obama was a major figure on campus, the first black president of the Law Review. Some friends, in a prescient joke, just referred to him as "the first black president." He had a reputation as a conciliatory figure, not a confrontational one like Bell.

I sure would like to know what else is being ‘hidden’ about Barack Obama.
Even when the truth comes out, people still don’t believe it...
I would sure love to see the tapes the L.A. times is hiding...with Obama and Rashid Khalidi.
I hate to say this, but unless there is something truly awful on this video it’s never going to get any traction in the MSM.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,596202,00.html ‘Glenn Beck’: Who Is Charles Ogletree?
I’m watching Hannity. Today he said he was going to show the entire 14 minute unedited tape. What happened? This is ridiculous! He showed the edited version and then a prof at Harvard saying how they hid it—that’s it? Come on.
The real story is that it was hidden and the current story is the contortions the media goes through to avoid embarrassment over it today.
he showed the part that Ogletree hid....hugging the professor BFD
Agreed. The Khalidi tape could be explosive. I’m watching Hannity now — this tape doesn’t amount to much IMHO. Only thing different from the tape released earlier today is he hugged the guy. Hopefully this is a drip drip drip and they have something more substantive than this.
The real story isn’t just what’s on the tape. It’s the FACT that such tapes (and the one of Obama at the dinner with the Islamic terrorist) that have been KNOWN about and SUPPRESSED.
The transparent Marxist has been shielded by a complicit media. The same sort that forged military memos to try to throw a presidential election.
Interesting backstory about the black female professor. The reason for the gathering is to aggitate for her tenure...based on race and gender. This shows that obama was a race pimp from way back.
OK, so this is the same community organizer who started his career in Bill Ayers’, the radical bomber, living room, went to the radical church of the radical preacher Wright, hired the radical comminist Van Jones as well as the demented lunatic environmental radical Holdren, and is in fact a communist radical himself, so this video of him hugging a radical harvard prof means what? Obama’s a radical? Gee, no kidding...
There’s more but there’s also a reason for them and these teasers. The MSM has now been put on notice that there’s tapes out there and people are aware that they are hiding them. We will start seeing more and more.
ROFL
Then WHY have we heard NOTHING from anyone who "remembers him at Harvard"????
Gimme a break....
Hannity sucks.
He’s been hyping this crap all day!
BFD is right. He SAID he was showing the whole unedited 14 minute version and everyone would be shocked. Pisses me off. I will not believe any of this stuff is coming out with baloney like that. WTH??
As many of us suspected: BFD. What a letdown.
Wasn’t there a rumor back on ‘08 that there was tape of The First Linebacker hollering about “Crackas” or some such?
Meanwhile...
From what I've read, this showing was almost as SENSATIONAL as Geraldo's "Al Capone's Vault" episode.....
