The web is abuzz today about video of a speech Barack Obama gave in 1990 (some reports have incorrectly identified the speech as occurring in 1991) at Harvard Law School defending the actions of Professor Derrick Bell. Bell, the law schools first tenured black professor, had protested Harvards failure to offer tenure to women of color as law school professors. Online publisher Andrew Brietbart, who died last week, had said he possessed the speech and hinted that he would release it, arguing that it provided evidence that Obama has long held radical political beliefs.
Today, the website BuzzFeed published a clip of the speech along with an article explaining some past and current context for Obamas remarks. The website claimed the clip was not previously available online. The editors at Brietbart.com responded that the video on Buzzfeed had been selectively edited and said that they would release the full footage tonight on Fox News.
But theres nothing new about the clip or Obamas role in the controversy at Harvard Law School. In 2008, as a part of our quadrennial election special The Choice 2008, FRONTLINE ran the same footage of the speech as a part of an exploration of Obamas time at Harvard Law School, where he graduated in 1991. Its been online at our site and on YouTube since then. You can see that part of the film below.

I can’t wait to hear allegations that obama is being “swiftboated.” LOL
The real issue to focus on is selective libstream media editing.
I look forward to seeing what they cut out. Their spin is based on
the sanitized version.
Since Breitbart hasn’t released the video yet, how do they know what’s in it?
I knew I saw the edited clip prior to today’s re-release. This documentary film is where I probably saw it. IIRC, Initially, it was reported Breitbart had possession of “videos”. Tonight his group is supposed to release an un-edited 14 minute long video clip. In less than an hour, we’ll know more. Typically, Breitbart would release bits and pieces of damning information, permitting progressives to formulate a response which inevitably buries them in the deception of their own making. It will be interesting to learn if there is more than just this one tape as well.
This liberal tripe is courtesy of our earnings confiscated via taxes for liberals. Truly, State controlled and funded media. Fluke them.
See? “We’ve plowed this field already”.
See? “We’ve plowed this field already”.
I’ll wager 0bama was made Editor of the Harvard Law review BECAUSE, of the on campus protests.
The Dean had to appease the leftist rabble
I wonder if this one will be a “not much to see here”. The MSM will get all full of itself knocking Breitbart and then WHAM! More video
“Fluke them”
Very funny....sure hope it catches on
Great response!!!
Fluke you, PMS-BS!
You can’t spell “PBS” without “BS”.
Ill wager 0bama was made Editor of the Harvard Law review BECAUSE, of the on campus protests.
The Dean had to appease the leftist rabble
You are so right.
I don’t care what “Frontline” has to say about anything. A leftist show for leftist viewers.
The guys that are running Brietbart.com said that this is just the tip of the iceberg of many more things to come. Drip drip drip..... I hope they are careful.
I watched the clips they have posted. The second one has this above it, “...Breitbart.com editors claims that the footage had been edited, we pulled the full archived tape. In includes not just Obamas speech, but other footage from the rally”
Thier “archived tape” is edited as well. After about 6 minute of B roll footage, Obama’s speech starts in the middle of a sentence. Then it has at least 2 other edit points. One of them right after he says, “and speaking the truth”
If this were such a nothing burger, the lib media would not be going to such lengths to defend.
I’ll bet they edited out the part where Zero asks Harvard to provide
free rubbers and K-Y [/s].
