Mitt Romney won more than twice as many delegates on Super Tuesday as Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum. The Non-Fox Media's take-away is that Romney suffered a major setback Tuesday night.
No matter what happens, Barack Obama's boosters in the NFM portray it as a debilitating blow to Romney. On Nov. 7, The New York Times' headline will be: "Romney ekes out narrow electoral victory, leaving race uncertain."
To explain the widening gulf in delegates won by Romney compared to the others -- he now has more delegates than all other candidates combined -- the media claim that a vote for any candidate other than Romney is an explicit vote against Romney.
Of course, even the NFM can't pretend Ron Paul's supporters would pick Gingrich or Santorum, both big-government, career politicians, as their second choice.
Newt calling Romney a flip-flopper is an absolute laugher. From Support for cap-and-trade as if it could curb Anthropogenic Global Warming, to mandated health insurance, to the Global Biodiversity Treaty, Newt has more than his share of splainin' to do. Yes, Newt is more of a conservative than Romney by far, but not nearly as much as his supporters pretend. He simply cannot be trusted.
While I'm not thrilled with all of Santorum's positions, and am disgusted with his delivery, at least I know he will do what he says he will to to a far greater degree. And please don't pull out party line votes in line with the Bush administration in a narrowly divided Senate as evidence of Santorum's ideological preferences; it won't fly with me.
You don’t have a favorite? That would be a little strange.
LOLz! So true.
I'd sell out, too, but no one's buying!
Romney won’t come within ten points of Obama and will drag down the vote in the hous and senate.
Every candidate up until these last two election cycles, with one exception who did not get caught until out of office, qualified for the office. Now we have Romney, Santorum, McCain, Obama and two VP possibles Jindal and Rubio all of whom fail to qualify because they are not Natural Born Citizens. Do you think this a coincidence?
I don’t pay any attention to Ann Coulter. She does not speak for me.
Hey STUPID, GO BACK AND READ YOUR ORIGIONAL POST.
Why don’t you go back and have someone read it to you real slow. Name calling is the first sign of a loser. Eff Romney , Eff Coulter and anyone else in the cult
I have a favorite for sure, but I don’t consider that to be the end all for the party. I’m not on the bandwagon for someone who has no chance of winning. I’ll not trash the person I like second best at the benefit of the dems. Ann, it seems is more interested in getting Obama re-elected than anything.I just hope that Romney doesn’t hurt the conservatives down ballot too much.
I am mostly rooting for Santorum because Gingrich can’t seem to pull women into the game. His women problems seem to haunt him. Gingrich is still the brightest light in the game, but his organization skills seem lacking. Dislike him as most of us do, Romney has the money and the org skills. I wonder if he will have the take no prisoners approach to the campaign that is desperately needed. Or will he do the McCain thing and say what a nice guy Obama is and we have nothing to fear for four more years if he were elected.
Your statement has multiple false assertions, so I cant help you explain anything based on false presumptions.
I understand completely how not having a favorite in the game right now. Back in 2008, McCain was coronated before I even got to vote, and I made a protest/statement vote “PIck better than McCain next time!”
Romney is better than McCain but not by much. uggg.
I really wish we could have a viable conservative alternative, and Santorum would be the best choice IMHO of the ones remaining, but he’s far from stellar and perfect. Newt is brilliant and I understand those liking him, he was my choice for bit ... but unelectable.
The establishment has ‘settled’ on most ‘electable’ Romney. Now, it’s almost certain that Romney will win the nomination. The silver lining is Romney (and santorum!) is looking surprisingly strong vis a vis Obama right now. Only the Oba-media is keeping the myth of his re-election prospects alive ... he’s in deep doo doo.

Romney “better than McCain”?
Only if you think a crowbar to the skull is somehow superior to a baseball bat to the kneecap.
I choose neither.
“crowbar to the skull is somehow superior to a baseball bat to the kneecap.”
No, that’s the Obama / Hillary choice. ;-)
“I choose neither.”
Be my guest.
In the end, whoever we choose, it needs to be ABO in November.

1: I didn’t ask you to explain any thing?
2: Romney won’t come close to beating Obama because he is that lousy a candidate.
3: None of those men have provided proof of their natural born citizenship and several have refused to provide paper work that would prove one way or the other NBC.
Your assumption that Obama is the gravest danger to the republic is wrong.
The continued compromise of principle, those principles which should be absolutely non-negotiable, by “conservatives,” is much more perilous, actually.
If you think Mitt Romney can hold the Republican coalition together you’re delusional.
Let me be quite explicit about it: the nomination of Mitt Romney by the Republican Party will spell the beginning of its end as a major American political party.
Good analysis..I could wish Newt had a few less women problems and a few organization skills. His rhetoric is stellar. Santorum is a nice choice but a social conservative will not appeal to the vast unwashed in the middle. But, for now he is my choice also. I keep picking people that drop out.
Can’t vote Romney under any circumstance. At least Obama will only have 4 years. Romney could be in for 8
Thanks for the most illogical and stupid reason for letting a leftist get reelected. Marxism in America, brought to you by the Purist Brigade.
Obama is the worst President in our lifetime.
If you cant agree to that, go join the other party.
“those principles which should be absolutely non-negotiable”
Losing to leftists and letting them destroy the country is not principled. It’s insane.
