You can be pro life, and still want food stamps, and the EITC.And many of them look to "leaders" who tell them that the SW USA is still part of Mexico. People who came out of Mexican schools told me that there never was a Republic of Texas 1836-1845. Who knows what they teach in schools here.

That is actually Catholic Church doctrine, to vote anti-abortion (and anti-contraception) and for anti-poverty programs; and there is a logical- moral rational thread to that combination whether you think it's valid or invalid.
