Support for Rush Limbaugh came from an unexpected place Tuesday when Bill Maher took to Twitter to castigate liberals for their continued criticism of the conservative radio host.
Maher, who hosts the left-leaning HBO series Real Time, posted a comment on his Twitter account just after 4 pm, saying, "Hate to defend #RushLimbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout."

Yep...he’s scared to death the criticism is going to be focused on him next. What a disgusting slimeball - first for his vile misogynistic name-calling and second for his cowardly defense of Rush to deflect criticism from himself. What a cowardly, sniveling POS. Stand up like a man and take it...see how it feels to be on the receiving end.
He’s afraid of a personal backlash. This loser isn’t being sincere, he’s just trying to cover his own sorry ass comments and insults in case the scope moves in his direction.

The fact is some years back just after 9/11 Maher stepped in it big time (reason his Politically Incorrect show was canceled...)... the left was going to toss him under the bus, the right was dancing on his grave... Maher was headed to a political lynching
Rush stepped up to defend Maher, in fact took point... and Rush's point on Maher was correct at the time ( What Maher had said was misinterpreted)
If he accompanied it with a mea culpa and apologies to Sarah Palin, he would definitely be more credible.
Notice how the two vulgarisms you couldn’t fully spell out were both uttered by Maher while slut is a far more commonly accepted word - frequently used in jokes.
Maher has a lot more to lose if we’re discussing who is more rotten to women.
Don’t worry (or worry), he’ll recover.
Well, Maher, as a professional scoffer, seems to realize that he’s an obvious target for a counter-campaign as part of pointing out the left’s double-standards, given that he has used more vulgar misogynistic language against conservative women.
Still, my estimation of the man has gone up: no longer do I regard Maher as lower than whale dung, but he still ranks as lower than a snake’s belly in a wagon rut.

That was sort of my take on it as well, particularly since he added the thing about the sponsors since it was sponsors pulling their ads that got him fired from ABC.

By supporting Rush, Maher is hoping to provide cover for the future when he spews disgusting comments about Palin and other conservative women again.
