Our Carbonite subscription is due to expire very soon. Any recommendations for a replacement?

My Carbonite subscription is up in a couple of months. I am waiting to see which of Carbonite's competitors is smart enough to grab Carbonite's advertising slot on Rush Limbaugh's show.

What you can do is look for a sale on a 2 Terabyte External Hard drive which you can USB plug into your computer. Back up your personal files to the drive. Be sure to also backup/download your files from Carbonite before you cancel your subscription.

For perspective, 2 Terabytes is approximately 2,000,000 MEGABYTES or 2,050 GIGABYTES. More than enough space for your files.

Carbonite and Mozy will both destroy your PC performance. Mozy also use to crash explorer.exe.

Both are crap. Both are crap solutions for backing up your PC.

Go to newegg.com or amazon.com or even bestbuy and buy a western digital passport Elements (not Essentials), and just drag your folders onto it when you want to backup.
