Can conservative talk show host Rush Limbaughs program survive the firestorm of criticism thats been leveled at him since he labeled Sandra Fluke a slut and a prostitute because the law school student argued before the Congress that her schools health insurance should cover contraception for female students?
Experts say Limbaugh is so powerful that hes likely to weather this latest controversy. The Rush Limbaugh Show is the top-rated radio show in the country, reaching an estimated 15 million listeners on nearly 600 stations. So far, only two stations WBEC in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii have dropped his program because of his comments.

And at least nine advertisers, among them AOL, ProFlowers and Quicken Loans, have pulled their advertising, even as there are growing calls for a listener boycott and for Limbaugh to be fired.
Asked about how she feels about the pressure that Limbaugh is facing now, Fluke told ABC News Dan Harris: I dont think its going to be a bad thing for the women of America if we dont hear this type of rhetoric again.
But thats unlikely. Even those advertisers whove pulled their sponsorship will likely come back, experts said.
Weve seen this many times in the past, Michael Harrison, publisher of Talkers magazine, which covers the talk radio industry, told Forbes magazine. Some of the advertisers that left will come back, and some will be replaced. Life will go on.
Some experts believe this latest controversy could actually benefit Limbaugh by bringing him more publicity.

Fluke said she doesnt want to hear from Limbaugh personally.
I dont think theres any way to put those words back in the bottle, she said. The damage to my reputation is done.

Ah yes, they are all so just “so worried” about Rush’s future (pouty lips).
“I dont think theres any way to put those words back in the bottle, she said. The damage to my reputation is done.”
HAHAHAHAH!
I guess that I’ll just make this posting on the Rush threads.
A lot of us wonder what we can do. We can call the sponsors, but they (obviously) get a lot more calls from the left than they do from us, or this wouldn’t be happening. We can stop using them, which we are, of course. That will hurt them in the long run.
But we can sting them in the short run also. The Stock Identifier for Carbonite, for example, is CARB. There is nothing prevents us from using our pocketbook to short them (I made a killing shorting financials, especially Countrywide, when it was obvious the mortgage meltdown was about to start - my wife is still driving the car that Countrywide bought us). Now, to stay clear of the SEC, I am not telling people to short companies like CARB, I’m only saying that it is an option to people who might be thinking that they made a bad business decision. And remember, as their stock goes down (if it does), then their owners will be watching their little pot of gold shrink too.
Damage to her reputation??? She is now a made woman to the Left and the publicity is worth millions and a bright red future.
“She now reports on immigration, religion and diversity.”
Always good to know there’s a diversity reporter out there.
If ABC News was actually a news organization they would look into Ms fluke’s radical partisan background, and explore how Pelosi and her parasites exploited this matter with the help of Obama’s Media PAC.
It’s FLUKE, her name is FLUKE
pronounced as FLUCK
the jokes write themselves
Her name will join Monica Lewinsky’s as a new noun or verb
“She did her own damage by being a lying hypocrite, 30 year old activist, knowingly going to a Catholic University that did not provide what she wanted.”
Georgetown should just expel her. It’s a private university and it was clear she had a motive that doesn’t jibe with the Catholic faith.
When the libs jump in and demand her first amendment rights are being inpinged on, the right can just come back and ask what about Rush’s comments?
I would think that she would prefer the complete set of “Xena: Warrior Princess” DVDs to Barry White.
The damage to my reputation is done.......................................... This sounds like there was a planned civil law suit waiting to be launched, if Rush took the bait. ????
Yes, kinda like Valerie Plame and Anita Dunn
Female martyr of the left for this election cycle
This one will go down in history for prolifically going down
If obama wins again she probably get to clerk for Sonya SotoMaYoR or maybe Elena Kagan- great fun offices, girl parties and such
(Hello, anyone heard from Valerie or Joe lately...?)
“This one will cost Limbaugh — in lost advertising revenue, in lost stations, in the settlement for an undisclosed amount. He will be lucky to survive. Imus had to leave the airwaves, and the Dems/Left/MSM will continue trying to get Limbaugh removed.”
Oh, come on. “Lucky to survive”? I think it’s over ALREADY (which is fitting since it was much ado about nothing in the first place).
And there’s a difference between trying to take down a mumbling old man and the king of talk radio. Not to mention the left’s wet dream of trying to create a boycott by Rush’s listeners... oh, REALLY? The only thing Rush’s listeners are going to be boycotting are the idiot left-leaning companies that bailed as soon as the media succeeded in creating a “firestorm” based on 2 words of the thirty-seven trillion that Rush utters every year.
[I dont think theres any way to put those words back in the bottle, she said. The damage to my reputation is done.]
There you have it folks, the subliminal warning of a mega-million dollar law suit.
An Asian man walks into a bank to exchange his Yen for dollars. He gets less this time than usual...
Is the truth a defense to “defamation” lawsuits?
How come everyone supporting “diversity” sound identical?
He can if we get off our asses and call our local stations and his sponsors and tell them
DO NOT BOYCOTT FREE SPEECH.
If we are not supposed to boycott Hollywood movies because of the leftist statements that Hollywood actors make, then they should not boycott Rush for his statements.
DO NOT BOYCOTT FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
As far as I know, being a public figure is.
Fluck voluntarily went before a sham publicity stunt, created to publicly take a position, solely for public exposure.
That seems like the very definition of “public figure” to this poster.
