Absolutely. In fact, I believe that MM has been trying to explain that you can simply back up your data on a 1 Terabyte external drive that you own, and can be plugged into a USB port on your computer, allowing you to back up all of your data on your own device, and not have your info in anyone else's hands other than your very own.

That's what I did/do. a 1 Terabyte external drive costs less than $100 and is about the size of an iPhone, or at least mine was when I bought it.

Mega dittos. And that is exactly right. Easy as 123. Wouldn’t be without it because I don’t trust anyone with my stuff.

I think people are supposed to have 2 different backups. Hard copies, yes, but also cloud off site backups as well.
