Obama's Trouble with Women Voters Led to This Contraception Distraction

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Have you heard, ladies and gentlemen, that President Obama has been asked (one might say demanded) to deliver the commencement speech at a women's college in New York? This is Barnard College. (I've never heard it pronounced; I'm deaf, so I have to guess at the pronunciation.) It's an all-women's college in New York. Obama will address the graduates at this year's commencement, May 14th. The White House called Barnard College in recent days and offered up Obama as the commencement speaker, and they promptly accepted, except they already had one. They already had one. Jill Abramson, the executive editor of the New York Times, was set to address the graduates before the White House called the college.

During all of this last week the White House calls the college and says, 'We want to address! We want to send the president up there." What's the college to do? (panting) "Okay." So Obama will go address the women. Now, why? It goes back to why Darrell Issa's committee was corrupted, his hearing was corrupted. But there's an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll out today that shows Romney pulling ahead of everybody else on the Republican side, but Obama's approval back to 50%. This is a bogus poll: 800 people, "adults." Not "likely voters," not "registered voters." If you're new to the program, presidential approval polls or pre-election polls are the most accurate when they sample "likely voters." They are the least accurate when they sample "adults."

In addition, the Republican sample of this 800-people-participation poll was 27%, 27% Republicans. Now, we know from Gallup that twice as many Americans identify themselves as conservatives as identify themselves as liberals. It's 40% to 20%. Conservatives, self-proclaimed conservatives, vastly outnumber the liberals in this country. Yet in a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, Republicans represent 27% of the sample and they are celebrating and ballyhooing that Obama's at 50%. It's a worthless poll because the sample is "adults." The truth of the matter is that the president is still finding it difficult with women in his approval numbers.

And that's why they wanted to change the subject from whether or not he behaved unconstitutionally in mandating churches give away abortion pills (or birth control pills), to: "Republicans don't agree with contraception!" It's totally made up. There's not a Republican out there that wants to ban contraception. There's not a Republican in the world that, as a political issue, wants anything to do with it. It's totally manufactured, and it's succeeded in distracting everybody's attention from what Obama had done, and it's meant to portray the Republicans as Neanderthal troglodytes while the party of Bill Clinton (who's destroyed Monica Lewinsky's life among others) is held up as God's gift to women! Everything's 180 degrees out of phase.

So here comes Obama calling this college in New York and kicking Jill Abramson off the podium. She's only the first woman executive editor of the New York Times in its 160-year history. So the party of women calls Barnard College -- an all girls' school, all-women college -- and says, "We want to speak! Get rid of whoever you had." "Well, it's Jill Abramson, New York Times." "Even better. Get rid of her." It wasn't a Republican that called and demanded the right to address the graduates at Barnard and kick an achieved woman off the podium. It was Barack Obama. The president and his fellow Democrats have made women a focus of their campaigns of late, precisely because they wish to change the subject.

My take from all of this? FLUKE the FLUCKING news media for ‘reshaping’ the reality which we see, constantly skewing in favor of The Kenyan insurgent. DAMN THEM ALL.

Finally the truth is getting into the mainstream conservative media. It started with Stephanopolis hounding Mitt about contraceptives during that debate a few months ago. We all scratched our heads and said, "Why is he asking about that? It's not even an issue."

Now look where we are. It is about the woman's vote -- nothing more.

Do we really think majorities of women voters will turn away from Obama?

I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.

I haven’t been following all the details of this, but it seems clear to me that all this is happening because the Obama campaign wants it to happen. They feel that they have more to gain politically by increasing the vote from liberal women than they stand to lose by decreasing whatever vote Obama might have received from Catholics.

Well there are ignorant women out there, that is for sure and that arrogant lazy, lying pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania needs them to reelect him. I personally know one who said she will vote for him again. BTW she voted for President Bush twice

I simply find it amazing what evil the Democrats get away with.

Obama and the Democrats are going increase health care costs for our veterans (who use Tricare) by up to 345% during the next 5 years - while at the same time Obama and the Democrats just can't wait to give away "free" contraceptives to women who can't keep their knees together.

Who Obama Hates:

Who Obama Loves:

The Democrat Party is truly the party of Evil and Sin.

I have yet to meet a Democrat who loves and treasures God (the real one).

The Pill: 9 bucks a month at the Georgetown area Target. That’s half an overpriced cocktail at the bars where that slore probably hangs out 5 nights a week.

dont need a majority to vote against Obama. 50/50 will do.

Obama will lose the men’s vote bigtime, or should. millions of men have lost jobs and the ones who still do have jobs have been suffering from the worst president in our lifetimes.

Dems only hope is to scare women into voting for Obama to balance that out. This whole contraception angle is a bid to make Santorum unelectable “see the Repukes want to take away your birth control!” A lie, a slander, and worse than the lies the Dems used when they claimed the Repub would take a way grannys social security.. Just as the Occupy movement was about a camapign against Mitt. All of it is the politics of distraction - anything but have a discussion of what Obama REALLY DID AS PRESIDENT.

ITS SO TRANSPARENT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH IT.

Very true that it`s transparent..to those who apply critical thinking, a lost quality among most Americans. Obama was elected not on a broad agreement with his policies, but rather a deep emotional bond with him. Chris Matthews` “thrill up his leg” was symbolic of that weird connection 63 million voters had with 0bama.

American voters, aren`t a particularly bright lot anymore.. and they like free stuff from whomever will give it to them.
