Rush vs. Sandra Fluke: The fight Obama wants

It has been an almost embarrassingly lucky few weeks for Barack Obama politically, what with Mitt Romney detained at the altar and unemployment, for the time, abating. But that was just a prelude to the lavish political gift granted to the White House by Rush Limbaugh, the opponent they have always wanted.

The Limbaugh “slut” and “prostitute” rant against Georgetown Law student/contraception advocate Sandra Fluke — which seems to be completely overshadowing boring old Super Tuesday — matters. It matters to Rush (he’s lost seven sponsors and counting), but it probably matters a lot more to Mitt Romney and anyone else running under the GOP flag in districts that contain, you know, women.

This doesn’t seem to be a one-week story. It’s just too sticky, culturally. And Democrats are doing everything in their power to keep it alive this week and beyond, as evidenced by David Axelrod’s suitable-for-framing quote on ABC yesterday: "I think what Rush Limbaugh said about that young woman was not only vile and degrading to her, but to women across the country."

Here are some reasons why Rush may have a real impact on 2012, apology or no.

The Democrats tangle the bait, and the Rush runs with it? OK, so the woman isn’t a 20 yr old student, but a 30ish female activist, and now they have Rush on the hook because he bit the bait. Rush has always been the biggest thorn in the Dem’s side, nothing would please them more than ruining his career and remove him from the scene. Remember, they’re more than pretty good at doing that.

They are not going to ruin Rush's career; but Rush has opened the door to their saying we think all women who use birth control are sluts. Frank "Lout" Lautenberg said as much,.

And Democrats are doing everything in their power to keep it alive this week and beyond

Of course it is. And decent Repubs should insure that Obama, not only 'get it's'; but that he regrets inviting it.

But no. . .apologies; seem the Repub order of the day.

Pathetic! We are at war with these people! Dammit. What part of this; can NOT Repubs get? They praise Breitbart. Do they know what he even did for a living? First chance to step up to plate; with Breitbart 'praise' still on their lips; and they run; as they run from Rush; who had the nerve to challenge this Leftist fraud.
