I think Santorum does not yet realize that there's a bigger anti-Santorum element in the GOP primary electorate than there is an anti-Romney contingent.

And I lay responsibility for that clearly at the feet of Rick Santorum.

Saintorum can shove it. He will never get my vote.

Our country can’t afford another rookie in the White House...besides, Obama would eat him alive.

It’s not a matter of whether he would beat Romney, if Newt drops out.

But it’s whether he could be Obama if he wins the nomination.

It's probably too late. Santorum has now assumed the same unelectable status as Gingrich. Gingrich will probably get a minor bump on Tuesday, and they'll both fade after that. The Romney channel and the R's have done their work.

Arrogant little twit. I watched him on Fox News Sunday today and he is a very weak interview. Chris Wallace had him squirming and re-writing history for 15 minutes. It was ugly. Also Ricky may want to look at the poll. He is dropping like a rock everywhere now that people are starting to find out more about him. Newt on the other hand took his time this morning twisting Stephie and David Gregory into pretzels. No comparison.

Gingrich will:

Super Tuesday: Win Georgia/Tennessee/Oklahoma, do very well in Ohio

March 10: Do very well in Kansas

March 13: Win Mississippi/Alabama

This race is far from over and Newt has a huge opportunity with Santorum continuing to go off message, and backtrack.

Amen.

Santorum still has yet to win a primary.

I’d vote for Romney over Santorum and that’s about as low as one could go in my book.

Newt’s the only one who will “git er done””.

Why should Newt drop out? He is by far the better of the four candidates. I agree, there is a growing anti Santorum contingency, the more exposure he gets.

Willard needs to drop out in all severeness..I mean seriousness.
He could then be free to hunt vermit with with his new bud from Motor City or, maybe compete on Trump’s Apprentice.. as he is a great businessman.

Every time Santorum opens his mouth it becomes increasingly difficult for me to keep mine closed.

while this may have been true 2 weeks ago, it is no longer the case.

Santorum had his chance, and he blew it. Now it’s time for Santorum to get out of the way of the real challenger Newt.

Apparently Rick does not yet realize that, shortly after making that rather shortsighted prediction, Chris Wallace politically “eviscerated” him on that same Fox program. Actually, it was more like ritual sepuku on Rick's part. It was both embarrassing and painful to watch.

Note to Rick: Please go back and clean up your political entrails off the Fox studio floor.

Newt can say the same thing about Rick.
Which is that if Rick drops out Newt can beat Mitt.
Who would you like to see debate 0Bama, Newt or Rick?

RICK SANTORUM FOR PRESIDENT!

I usually catch almost every interview Santorum gives, but mised Fox News Sunday today....only caught a bit when they replayed a little....

Have no idea if Mike tried to eviscerate him, but then again, Mike tries to eviscerate anyone who is decent and conservative.

Wallace did say, in the 2nd interview later, that Santorum was dealing with a heavy cold.

It takes a strong constitution, physically, to be a candidate & be ready to respond day in, day out to questions....give speeches....travel in planes, trains and automobiles across the country with very little sleep and reporters mics stuck in your face so they can try to trip up your words.

You know, like what some of you do here...except without the mics.

And Gingrich would win if Santorum drops out...so they’re even. I am depressed. Because it appears more and more that the GOP-e is going to win this round. I just don’t see how the guy that lost to McCain is going to win in November. If what the independents are looking for is a wishy washy go along to get along, then maybe. As for me, if Newt goes through the Pa. primares, he’s got my vote. At that point, I quit the Republican party.

It’s going to be a disaster if neither Gingrich or Santorum drops out after Super Tuesday......there is no way back, it will be Romney if that’s the case, we’re standing at the abyss.

Santorum lost me with those robo-calls during the last primary.

My former impression was that he was one of the very rare breed that walked the morality walk as much as he talked the morality talk, and was worth supporting for that alone.

The robo-calls showed him to be just another damn pol. If I have to support “just another damn pol”, I am going to choose the most effective one that is reliably Conservative. Right now that’s Newt, but I’m still hoping that somehow...

*see tagline*

I think you're right. If Santorum drops out, Newt will most likely pick up all of the conservative vote. If Gingrich drops out I believe there will be a sizeable number of his supporters staying at home.
