NEW YORK Ron Prosor, Israels ambassador to the United Nations says Jerusalem believes diplomacy is the preferred course to resolve the current nuclear standoff with Iran.
We should really pursue and focus on the sanctions and the diplomatic elements in trying to bring the regime in Tehran to reassess the way they want to go forward, explained the Israeli diplomat.
The emphasis on the diplomatic option would appear to be a shift toward the position of the Obama administration which has stressed stepping up the diplomatic and economic pressure on the regime of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
We are very keen, very clear in saying there is still a lot to be done on the diplomatic front that is not being done.
It is a pity that this has taken so much time.
But, I think the sanctions, especially those on the central bank of Iran, can be very effective. We have to pursue that, said Prosor in an exclusive interview Friday.

Iran can get nuked and blamed for it at the same time.
They’ve ALWAYS believed that it was the PREFERRED action....but they will do what is necessary.
“I want to make sure we end, uh... before ‘the call to prayer’”....

Idiotic headline that has nothing to do with the content. Of COURSE they would rather deal with it diplomatically. A war would be horrific.
Diplomacy will work wonderfully if they first go in and remove the nukes.
The cooperation will be astounding when it’s clear who is stronger.
That’s what they told obama at least.

Disinformation is a key tactic in war.
Really, really, really, really, dumb, if I were going to attack that would be the story I was putting out.
A friend of mine who is stationed on Diego Garcia just had his APPROVED leave for the middle of April cancelled...the reason, "We'll Be To Busy At That Time."
Diego Garcia is where all the military equipment, war provisions and etc are stored (prepositioned) for the Middle East. The big bombers can/do operate out of there too.(I'm not revealing any secrets here)
“Israel shelves Iran military option”
Sounds like they are about to attack...
If you’re going to attack a country, ordinarily you wouldn’t broadcast it. It’s only the United States that does that. We even take the time to rebuild their countries too after we’ve blown them to hell, and we don’t even bother to plunder anything to pay us back for our blood and money. We ain’t normal.
Jeff Nyquist, if any of you are familiar with him, stated in an interview recently that Israel would likely (if they were smart) attack Iran within the next month or so. The Russians and Chinese are threatening world war 3 since Syria and Iran are both allies and represent their interests. The solution, therefore, is to strike so hard and so quickly ASAP so the Russians/Chicoms would have essentially nothing to defend.
If there were an ‘accident’ at an Iranian facility, would their pride even allow them to reveal that it happened?
The threat is existential - Israel will not sit and do nothing.
Dr Benjamin 'Bibi' Netanyahu is prime minister of Israel. His brother was the commander and the only special forces soldier killed during The Raid On Entebbe that freed the Israeli airline hostages.
He's a tough cookie, this Bibi.
I don’t have the link, but I have seen reports that Israel has ALREADY STRUCK.
Iranian nuke and missile facilities keep mysteriously blowing up. It could be Mossad agents on the ground, third parties like the Kurds, or some kind of very sophisticated micro-UAV.
BTW, I contributed to the micro-UAV work over 20 years ago. DARPA has some the size of a hummingbird that actually look like the bird.
As for payloads, there are explosives with a lot more oomph than C-4 in our arsenal. They are tricky; I saw a lab demolished by 10 MILLIGRAMS of an experimental explosive once. Lab tech survived but lost an arm.
I love BIBI, wish he were our president he so reminds me of a Jewish
Ronald Reagan!!! He has such a presence of strength!!!!
Preferred yes, always. However, the Israelis are realists too. They will use the military option if/when diplomacy fails. I believe there is virtually zero chance of diplomacy succeeding, so...
Sure, the Israelis are quieting things down - for now. Rattling a saber makes noise, drawing one does not...
