(CBS News) Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul said an apology by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke for calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute" was not sincere, and was made only because it best served Limbaugh.
On CBS News' "Face the Nation," the Texas congressman told host Bob Schieffer that Limbaugh's apology "was in his best interest."
"He's doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off of his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about," Paul said.
Ron Paul is just siphoning off votes from conservatives and is a distraction. As a libertarian the septuagenarian Texas congressman is acting as a blocker (of conservative votes) for Mitt Romney. I wish he would quit.
The Carbonite company can go straight to you-know-where. I'll never buy their product.
Having to look at his name on the republican ballot just sickens me and some that call themselves Republicans buy his load is beyond me.
Again and again we hear “the folks” speak of “conservatives”!
But who is really a conservative?, and what really is a “conservative?”
Who and where can EVERYone really even speak on this?
*********
Right you are !!!!!
Semper Watching!

I'll say, unless it was for DNC eyes only.......
Well thanks, Captain Obvious!
I really wish Limbaugh had made a slightly different apology:
“I apologize for calling her a ‘slut’. In the heat of my show, I used the incorrect term when talking about Ms. Fluke. A slut is someone who has lots of sex, without requiring payment for such. The term I meant to use was ‘whore’.”
Rush should endorse Ron Paul. That would end Paul’s support from the left.
At least Rush acted like a man and didn’t say his statements were not made or were misstated. Yet, gutless wonder Ron Paul said he never read his newsletters which were loaded with KKK racist material. Man up..puke!!
If Rush personally felt that he should make an apology, then he was right to do so. Rush is probably aware that he improperly personalized the debate rather than staying on the issue. Just because he was accurate in his description of her don't mean that he was right to publicly call her that.
Let me put it this way. In the past, Rush has said that only the president of ClearChannel is allowed to send him “notes”. I’m guessing he got a note.
I’m pretty sure Ron Paul is not very happy about Rush Limbaugh’s imitation of him on air. I think it is pretty funny, and quite close to reality; however, I’m thinking Congressman Paul may have a different opinion.
Fluke you Ron Paul.
Well, you made me look the word up. "A woman of loose morals" seems to fit her quite well.
Just become a democrat you old coot, GO AWAY.
What I do know about Paul is that he's never apologized for anything - not for his racist blogs/newsletter; not for claiming that Jews deserve to be left to their own defenses against the Arab/Muslim countries surrounding them who desire their destruction; not for basically agreeing with Rev. Jeremiah Right that "America's chickens are coming home to roost;" translated we deserved 9/11.
Nope, I still believe that Paul truly believes that Rush Limbaugh would only apologize to keep from losing more advertisers, i.e. $$$$$
Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know and neither does the nutter.
This statement was in Ron Paul’s best interest and is not sincere
I hope that is the only reason Rush apologized!
I CAN'T WAIT 'TIL TOMORROW!
What other reason would there possibly be? Do you think Rush feels truly remorseful?
