As freeper Campion stated so well: "This shouldn't even be a matter of "affinity with the church". It should be a matter of affinity for the Constitution and for government according to the Constitution. "

An important point was also raised by another freeper: "Too bad too many other churches are sitting on their collective thumbs."

Where are the voices of such prominent Evangelicals as Joel Ostein or Pat Robertson? Why don't we hear from the Lutherans or the Methodists or the Anglicans? Oh wait ... they are silenced because their churches approve of contraception and, hence, abortifacients. Only the Catholic Church can stand for all christian churches in this fight for religious freedom, from which all will benefit because only the Catholic Church bans contraception. Please pray for these leaders and ask your pastors to support their efforts in their respective communities.

The answer is simple.

Like the Audubon Society, The NEA and many other organizations, the mainline Protestant church organizations have been absorbed into the liberal network. The churches are political organizations masquerading as religion.

The congregants are too simple to realize they have become political fodder
