Let’s be honest. Rush’s vast radio empire and vast personal wealth can’t be maintained by small start ups. They literally can’t afford him.
When he started, companies grew with him, and everyone profited. As his price went up, some of those who started with him grew and were able to afford the ever increasing price for 30 seconds on his show. Rush isn’t going to roll back prices to let underfunded startups in. It’s just not going to happen. If nothing else, at 61, He just doesn’t have the time left in his career to see the profit in it.
No, I’m afraid Rush is going to continue to seek advertisers who can pay the premium he can command. You can just take that to the bank.
You are absolutely correct.....when Rush just started. But now, he has enough money to retire today and not blink about it.
I think it would be a perfect set up. Rush helping new small business's get off their feet with his advertising. As they grow, so does his margin.
Look at how much money Rush gives to charity. What if he held a contest amongst all small business's just starting out...with a year or 2 of free advertising? If they take off, the profit margins start. If they don't, the next in line takes it's place.
Remember that bbq, or cookie selling thing he had going many moons ago and how many people showed up? Same concept.
Not only would it boost these small business's and Rush, but our economy as well.
