A new U.S. Senate candidate in Virginia wears a tie, has a campaign website and even launched an ad. One big difference? He has a thick coat of fur.
Hank the cat has thrown his paw into the race, running to mock the political status quo.
-snip-
Hank's campaign posters show the Maine Coon gazing upward, wearing a tie. An ad says Hank, a moderate, will work to make sure America stays the greatest land of all.

Pic at source; please don't post it, it's AP.
Yeah, I know this will probably get banished to Chat, but I wanted the Virginia topic.

The story says Hank's a moderate, so we can safely assume that he's been neutered.

It says it’s an AP photo in the credits, but it also credits the campaign for the photo. Maybe getting it from the campaign would work, if they really want publicity. Just about any cat is better than any Rat.

Is Hank on the ballot yet?
How in-furr-iating that would be, as neither Santorum nor Gringrich can get into the primary but a cat has a shot to get on the state-wide ballot!

The cat won’t upset the status quo.

He’d be too easily bribed with catnip and tuna.

A single 16 lb. bag of Purina Cat Chow sells for about $12 at Menards and feeds three cats for over a month. Cat-size food stamps could be in very small amounts compared to those for people.

Catnip and tuna? Try salmon. He’d sell out to the Communists for this. (At least he’d ask something for it. Too many just give it away for free.)

Good point - his colleagues would be P.O.’ed that he’s driving down the price.

Thanks for mentioning the pic! As a cat lover, I had to check it out. He and my 15 lb Maine Coon could be twins!

Yet another “Fat Cat” in the Senate...just what we need. The Senate is already “bulging” with them.
