a random thought just popped into my head...remember one or two years ago when they were trying to figure out why male frogs were growing eggs? And male fish were doing the same.
Wasn’t there a brief environmentalist panic attack about the pill being flushed into our water where (they theorized) it was messing with the hormonal balance of marine life?

And also being introduced into the water supply in urban areas.

I remember one FReeper remarking ...”well THAT explains the red/blue map!”

Does anyone know whatever happened to all that hoopla?

If we subsidize sluttiness, aren’t we going to wind up poisoning ourselves?

I hadn't considered the environmental angle. I have been considering the liability suits that would arise from the gov't subsidizing/condoning/encouraging the risky lifestyle this woman appears to live. The pill does prevent pregnancy but doesn't protect women from STD's. I can see a woman suing the gov't for compensation because she contracted an STD engaging in federally-sponsored high risk behavior. I can even see her winning a huge settlement, considering the state of the courts nowadays...
