The Michigan Republican Party voted to break a delegate tie Wednesday night, awarding 16 delegates to Mitt Romney and 14 to Rick Santorum.
The decision, which broke a 15-15 tie that would have resulted under the pre-primary interpretation of the rules, caused disbelief at Rick Santorums campaign. A spokesman rejected the decision.
Even Romney supporters in the Michigan GOP said the decision was unfair to Santorum.
I have this crazy idea that you follow the rules, said former Attorney General Mike Cox said after a 4-2 vote by a Michigan GOP credentialing committee, according to the AP. Id love to give the at-large delegates to Mitt Romney, but our rules provide for strict apportionment.

Romney paid a lot for his Michigan delegates. I think, though, that this one is going to be his most expensive.

Romney has cheated his way from Iowa.
And the malicious GOP Establishment is in orgasm.

One delegate shouldn’t make or break Santorum, so it’s the principle of the thing. It does present a two point spread gifted to Romney, when they should have broken even.
Truly bad form here Muichigan GOP.

What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his soul?
But for 2 lousy delegates, Mitt?? It might have been worth it for Wales (A Man for All Seasons, trial scene), but for 2 lousy delegates, Mittens?

The political parties are corrupted. Even when they win they lose.

The Michigan Republican Party (MRP) Credentials Committee voted 4-2 last night to give Mitt Romney both of the state's at-large delegates, State Policy Committee Chair Mike Cox told MIRS today.
Cox was one of two "no" votes on the committee which met via telephone, along with attorney Eric Doster The "yes" votes included GOP National Committeeman Saul Anuzis, a Romney supporter, and MRP Chair Bobby Schostak.
That would put the delegate split at 16 for Romney and 14 for Rick Santorum, after each candidate won 14 delegates apiece in those divided by Michigan's 14 congressional districts.
As MIRS first reported on Wednesday, the MRP was delaying a final decision on the delegate split until after consulting with attorneys.
Cox said that according to the MRP rules, Santorum and Romney should each get one of Michigan's two at-large delegates based on their take of the popular vote.
"I supported Mitt, but the vote was clearly wrong," Cox said of the Credentials Committee. "It's kind of like Third World voting. We published rules and then we voted to change the rules."

We need to make a big deal out of this! They’re counting on it being a non-issue since Romney got the popular vote but are they going to just “change the rules” in the general too?
Don’t let them set the precedent. Get this on the talk shows and make it headlines in conservative media.

What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his soul? Remember that Bishop Mitt Romney is destined to become a God himself and will rule as God over others, this Presidential run is part of his religion.

Dont let them set the precedent.
Quite a track record already this election starting in Iowa which was declared for Romney but won by Santorum. Virginia required extreme scrutiny of all but Romney and Paul. Maine Declared for Romney despite some screwy crap going on in some of the precincts. Florida appears to be a result of shifting rules. And finally Michigan where they admit to changing the rules after the fact.

Are you serious ? telling someone that they are acting like a child just for saying that people need to put actions and meaning behind their words instead of empty rhetoric ?
We heard for months from the Newt supporters " Anyone but Romney " .. but, yet, when the true test came in Michigan, the Newt supporters handed the win over to Romney.

Track record and pattern....

Its no coincidence that the Michigan GOP logo resembles the Obama logo, their behavior is the same.

Don’t forget that Arizona is a primary that was held before April 1st and is therefore supposed to be proportional, not winner take all as reported.
