Albuquerque dog becomes registered voter
http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S2518479.shtml?cat=500 ^

An Albuquerque man says he successfully registered his dog to vote in Bernalillo County.

The dog owner said he saw a voter registration booth on the University of New Mexico's campus a few weeks ago and decided to see how easy it would be to register his dog to vote.

He said he was trying to expose the problems with the registration system. He said he just received the dog's voter registration card in the mail Wednesday, and it was way too easy.

"They should verify. Somebody should have verified this information and somebody should have come out and took a look at exactly who it was. But I made up a birth date, and I made up a social security number and I had a voter registration card in my hand for Buddy two weeks later," the dog owner said.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 contacted the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office. They said state law does not require proof of your social, your date of birth, or even your name. But they said what this man did is voter fraud.

They also said they strictly look over all the applications that come from third-party registration agencies before sending out registration cards. But this time, Buddy the dog made it through the system.

"We're going to have a lot of people that are registered to vote that shouldn't be able to vote," the dog owner said.

He said he has no intention of voting under Buddy's name.

Would it be racist to ask him for ID at the polls?

He is a dog; therefore, he is a conservative.

Taking this guy at his word that he had no intention of voting, and was testing the system, then, clearly this is a republican, probably registering his dog as an ‘R’.

A dem doing something similar would be voting.

Of course, a dem doing something similar but getting caught would act as if in the former case.

18 is pretty old for a dog. You do have to be 18 to register right? Did he register for the draft too? We got a saying in Texas, “Someday people will hunt democrats with dogs.” I am all for putting Buddy on the scent.

The link below is to a news story from Billings, Montana, that may have a direct (humorous) connection to Albuquerque’s Buddy the Dog.

The story may be worth posting on its own but I’m too computer-ignorant to get it done.

http://billingsgazette.com/news/local/richard-cebull-says-he-sent-racist-obama-email/article_63df0eef-dd3a-549c-ba11-4729413d044a.html

Might it be that Buddy is actually related to the Obamutts?

Local Alb news is now saying the owner may be charged with voter fraud. Which basically means he will be punished for embarrassing the local community by showing what a joke "registration" really is.

Don’t let Odhinn read this, unless you’re prepared to explain why *he* isn’t registered to vote!

My girls are very politically active. They have all their shots and aren’t currently in heat, so they should be able to vote. I will admit that when Bella was a Democrat she ate her own poop, but those days are behind her. She’s now a solid conservative and poop-free.

This happens here every few years. Someone registers a dog, a parakeet, a six year old child, and it turns up in the newspapers as a “humorous human interest story”. Never been a prosecution so far as I can tell.

But they said what this man did is voter fraud.

The only voter fraud I see here was committed by the officials responsible for preventing stuff like this.
