Goodbye, First Amendment: ‘Trespass Bill’ will make protest illegal
Russia Today ^ | 2/29/2012

Posted on 03/01/2012 2:32:29 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

Just when you thought the government couldn’t ruin the First Amendment any further: The House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday that outlaws protests in instances where some government officials are nearby, whether or not you even know it.

The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday, a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011...

In the text of the act, the law is allowed to be used against anyone who knowingly enters or remains in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so, but those grounds are considered any area where someone — rather it’s President Obama, Senator Santorum or Governor Romney — will be temporarily visiting, whether or not the public is even made aware. Entering such a facility is thus outlawed, as is disrupting the orderly conduct of “official functions,” engaging in disorderly conduct “within such proximity to” the event or acting violent to anyone, anywhere near the premises. Under that verbiage, that means a peaceful protest outside a candidate’s concession speech would be a federal offense, but those occurrences covered as special event of national significance don’t just stop there, either. And neither does the list of covered persons that receive protection.

Typical of Blumenthal. At a glance, it doesn’t appear to do a whole lot more than the existing law. But the Stolen Honor Senator gets his name on something.

The federal fascists pass one more piece of legislation which cements their protected status into law.

Where are those people yakking about how the GOP retaking the House was a real good thing?

A real good rubber stamp, that’s all it is.

There have been at least two other threads earlier, one with the exactly same source, I’ll try and find the link for you.

Here’s one of the thread from earlier, the one before that, I didn’t participate in, so don’t know the keywords for it.

Same title, posted by “combat boots”:

(P.S. I’m not razing you about a duplicate thread—I’ve never cared about that—just replying to the “Anyone have more info?” question.)

Oh yeah, and here’s another link to another site carrying the story:

“Latest From the Hill: Congress Criminalizes the Right to Free Assembly; Strips Basic Protections of First Amendment”

http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/congress-criminalizes-the-right-to-assembly-strips-basic-protections-of-first-amendment_02292012

I did hear it passed with over 300 “yeas” in the house, and IIRC SINGLE DIGIT “nays” and also was passed unanimously by the senate, but with no record of who voted. People need to wake up, there’s no difference between Democrat and Republican politicians. None of them are interested in our Freedom. NONE of them.

Exactly. The GOP is NO DIFFERENT from the Democrats, I no longer care what anyone has to say to the contrary. It’s one big circus, no difference, NONE.

See FEDERAL RESTRICTED BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 2011 in Congressional Record, House, February 27, 2012 for the record of passage. Looks to be a change to existing law, 18 USC 1752.

It's a good bet that there were no more than 3 total senators in the chamber when the measure passed the Senate. One of those three would be sitting in the presiding chair, one other would be Reid or a designee. There may or may not have been a third. I think it is safe to say that half of the items passed in the senate are done in this sort of circumstance; although I believe all Senators offices are given an opportunity in advance to object, so that what does pass really does have the stamp of approval of 100% of the US Senators, even though they are not in the chamber when the measures are formally passed.

I agree it is one big circus, or charade, or whatver you want to call it. But there is a difference between the parties. There has to be, otherwise the people would quickly "wise up" to the fact that both parties are play acting or play fighting while they enjoy their exalted perches.

Recent history shows us that the GOP is as good or better as the DEM party at growing the federal government.

FWIW - RT is Russia Today, a propaganda news organization. I have a liberal friend who watches it, they swear by it. I won’t have it turned on in my house.

all that aside, if this bill is a reality, will it prevent Code Pinkos from entering Congress and nearly assaulting the Secretary of State like what happened with COndoleeza Rice? Don’t see much of them since 0 took office. I sear Boxer and Pelosi always let them in the gallery.

So this would technically make events like this...a crime?

And consider for a moment all those heated townhall meetings from 2010...now illegal? Consider for a moment that an elected representative speaking at a Tea Party Rally....you could be arrested? This is not my country anymore if we have no way for redress.

We soon will look like 1930s Germany with lawmakers only protecting themselves for they will get to the place where they care nothing for the country while living as lavishly as they can without any trust in one another. We are getting very close to a big crisis and the pain and sorrow our people will endure can be laid at the feet of our politicians and the complicit media.
