+1. Sad to say, but entirely true. The pieces are all in position, and 90% of the populace is completely ignorant of how truly dire the situation is. The sharks have smelled blood in the water and been circling some time, the frenzy won’t be abated much longer.

Well said. Agreed. Naturally, many who are directly or indirectly dependent on debt/revenues for their incomes tend to cheerlead for more spending toward their interests. Perceptive people might see an increasing fear in some of the folks in services, though (also dependent on debt by way of customers' dependencies).
