Just two days before the Michigan primary, Rick Santorum has gained the momentum going into the Michigan Primary. Two polls sampled voters both last Thursday after the debate and last night (Sunday, February 26), after Romney's disastrous foot in mouth comments over the weekend and his empty stadium appearance. Rasmussen had Obama up 6 Thursday, but now puts him up only 2, a net loss of 4 and in Rasmussen's own words a "dead heat". Mitchell/Rosetta Stone, which had Romney up 36-33 on Thursday, finds an even larger swing, with Romney dropping a point and Santorum gaining 4, a net gain of five points. Its crosstabs show that Santorum has regained much of the support he formerly had with social conservatives and "very conservative" voters, who may have been initially bamboozled by Romney's deceptive ads.
Mitchell Rosetta Stone finds an unmistakable trend toward Santorum and the RealClear Politics Average currently sports a sight that should warm the cockles of every Freeper's heart: A down arrow on Romney in Michigan:

To my knowledge, Romney has never won a open primary that showed him with only a 1.5% lead.and he has underperformed the polls in every open primaries this year. Romney is about to lose Michigan and that will be the end of him. Good riddance.

Bumping this to the top. Today my husband mailed another check to Rick. Just wish it could be more, but it all adds up. Politicians raise a lot of money from regular people, when we all do our part.
I wouldn’t say surging, but I think Romney’s starting to lose ground again the past couple of days. Personally, I think it’s due to robocalls and onslaught of negative ads - ALL the time.
Can he get past the absentees? I don’t know. I’ll do my part.
Kathleen Parker? I’m not even going to click on that link. She despises social conservatives, as shown with her 2008 and 2009 obsession with Palin.
