I would think it will be Romney’s liberalism and duplicity that will hurt him in TN.
There’s only one faith that would prevent me from voting for a candidate, and it’s not Mormon.
I’ll not vote for RINOmney simply because he is only slightly less of a vapid dork than the Obamaloon.
If I want total vapid dorkiness, I’ll go for the whole Obama-chalada.
Versus Obama.... yeah, not so much.
Versus Santorum... Romney, the future Mormon god and his cult followers are absolute toast.
There are a lot of people in TN who wouldn’t vote for Romney because he is Mormon. I’m one of them.
But Romney wouldn’t get my vote if he was Christian either, because he is a liberal.
Welcome to the "Buckle of The Bible Belt"...

The Tennessean article/poll compares Romney to Obama...
(IMO --this is an editorial advocacy piece w/a general election question as a smoke screen)
As long as it is still a primary season -- and the Christian voters have a choice OTHER than Romney...
Ummm....
Don't count your angels until they hatch...

From the link:
“Rick Santorum feels we should stick to our core principles, constitutional as well as spiritual; we can’t do this without God! This song was written with these values in mind, echoing the unvarnished record and beliefs of a man of Faith, Rick Santorum.” -Jack Bond, 1-28-12, Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas

I hear an awful lot of folks attacking Santorum’s Catholicism, but I don’t hear anyone attacking Mormonism.
When I first heard he was a Mormon the last time he ran I said No Way. One must have good smarts and common sense to be POTUS. A Mormon doesnt qualify. That’s my call.
I think FR makes up for any lack of Mormon attacks this election year.
His mormonism is all the more reason not to vote for him, even if he wins the nomination.
Add that to his extreme socialist record as Gov., his lies, etc.
I will never vote for him, ever.

“I would think it will be Romneys liberalism and duplicity that will hurt him in TN.”
You would be correct!
The evil, lying, Satan attacks on Santorum are coming from the GOP-e, Romney camp and DNC groups that hate what Santorum stands for... Our Lord and His teachings.
“I hear an awful lot of folks attacking Santorums Catholicism...”
I feel sorry for such folks. We ALL need to focus on the vital importance of the upcoming election...the most crucial in our history!
upcoming election...the most crucial in our history!
Yes, and I think most voters know this.
And every year. People got really sick at the nonsense that went on last year, title change threads, Mods moving religious forum to breaking news, etc. etc. The all out attack has been prevalent for some time. It’s largely inconsequential, as the religious bigotry is more of a turn off to good people.
In any event I don’t like Romney’s big government ideas. The only person lower than him in that regard in this race is Santorum. No one in the race is perfect, but they’re the two biggest government liberals left in the race. I think Newt will be a better conservative if his feet were held to the fire. Ron Paul’s a Constitutional conservative, but may get us all killed with his “Iranians just want to be friends” mantra. The Constitution allows for people being stupid (it’s up to us to weed them out), it doesn’t allow for a giant nanny state.
What I find freaky about religion and the 2012 primary, is that if a Catholic Bishop, especially one believed to be destined to become a Cardinal or possibly Pope after his Presidency, were running for the GOP nomination, he and his church would come under deep scrutiny.
Bishop Romney is that guy, except not in a Christian church, but in a secretive cult.
As a Bishop and then a Stake President, Bishop Romney is expected to ascend higher in the Mormon church to at least the level of Cardinal, and possibly to the position of Prophet or Pope, as his uncle was in line to be when death claimed him. Mitt is also the son of a Bishop and is believed by many Mormons to be the fulfillment of the White Horse Prophecy.
There is no comparison between Santorum and Romney.
Santorum is right when he says that conservatism is not libertarianism. Conservatism historically has accepted a low level of government involvement in both social and economic affairs. For example, it is right, in my view, for the government to support natural marriage with thru such things as spousal sharing of social security benefits.
That supports the rearing of children and the sharing of that load by both mother and father.
