No idea. I put it out to the masses and let them tell me the truth. Probably is a hoax, but would not be surprised if it wasn’t...

Looks like it was done with a graphic pen filter in photoshop.

One of my own to show the effect.

I agree with one of the comments at the link:

"Whoever did it is talented"

But I am confident it was not Obama.

Too much projection. After all, Hitler’s painting were just of buildings and not sinister at all.

BHO didn’t write his books either.

Looks like a modern hoax. Lines are too perfect, too uniform and the coloring is too black & white without enough greyscale.

Linocut mebbe? That is what I thought, linoleum cut.

That could have been drawn by another and transferred to the block for cutting.

I disagree. I do pen and inks, and this looks pretty standard, technique-wise. Now, the subject matter - that’s a different story.

The hands look like they are from this book—looking through to see if it is in there because the hand drawing looks very familiar.

I've never done pen and ink and must therefore ask, if done by hand, how does one get the vertical lines to be perfectly vertical and spaced precisely one pixel width apart as is the case with the linked image?

Well, they couldn’t be less than a pixel apart, could they?

I disagree, SuzyQue. I’m a pen and ink artist as well — my medium is stippling, however — and I think this looks like a PS filter job. The line quality overall is inconsistent between the vertical/slanted crosshatching and the hatches that form the horizontal lines of the palms of the hands, Lady Liberty’s sleeves, and so on. It looks too much like it had a hard eraser brush in Photoshop used to clean it up...IF you could call that cleaning.

Overall I’d say it’s a hoax. The politics is too blatant, the filterwork didn’t exist in 1980, and the lack of cleanup in the white space areas is too obvious.

Not only that, Obama would’ve drawn himself as a monarch or with a halo.
